凱樂之家旅館(Knoll House)

A one time grand-ish hotel is now looking a little tired but it’s in a great spot, perfect for walking and water sports. Staff friendly and helpful. Waiting service needs polishing. Restaurant food good.

Hotel takes you back in a very relaxed and cosy environment. It’s not modern and some may say it’s tired but it makes the relaxed atmosphere. With a real fire burning in the reception and lounge area makes it warm and cosy. Restaurant very good with self service breakfast, table service for the evenings. Second time we have been to this hotel. Swimming pool indoors and out. Plenty of walks around and bus stop on the doorstep with buses running every hour to Poole or Swanage if you don’t want to drive.

I was expecting a better standard, the whole hotel is very tired and needs all facilities, furniture and decor upgrading, the bed and mattress is very old and uncomfortable, parts of the hotel needed cleaning, the cutlery at breakfast was dirty. The area is however lovely, it’s such a shame!!

The only thing which lets it down is the confusion over the menu. There is a set menu & ala carts menu which 1 you order from & how many courses you are allowed 2or 3 gets confusing. They charge extra for £5 for a small dish of vegetables which is the same every night, peas, kale,sometimes broccoli is added. So if booking half board check your entitlement so you don’t end up with an unexpected bill,

A quaint and charming hotel with amazing views over Studland. Very clean and tidy. The hotel is quite spread out and it probably needs some investment although it may then lose some of that charm. We used the 9 hole pitch and putt course - quite a challenge. A good base for playing golf at some great local courses. In easy reach of Swanage and Corfe. Overall a real gem.

We stayed in a room with a balcony. Considering the price charged for a balcony room, we were rather disappointed. We did wonder if it was a room in which dogs were allowed because there was a seat cushion on one chair that looked as though dogs might have slept on it. There was nowhere to rest our suitcases - folding luggage racks not supplied. Overall, the room was very 'tired' and lamps and ledges very dusty. The restaurant is very large and felt more like a canteen, so not the dining experience we had expected. In our opinion, we felt the cleanliness of the hotel needed improvement. The hotel's location is its saving grace.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.The location very good, staff friendly and attentive,food, very good quality and sufficient.The only 2 negatives were the very poor WiFi signal both in and around our room No.6,and the haphazard car parking.I would stay at Knoll again, despite these things.

The hotel does need updating but it was clean comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly the situation of the hotel was very good and many walks around the hotel for people with dogs. A great few days away with a very good breakfast. Will go again. Like many of the people there who had been before .

Overall the room was clean and warm . The decor was dated (my opinion). The bathroom overall was clean however there were traces of mould in the tiles. Excellent breakfast the staff were very welcoming.
