This is by far the best stay we have ever experienced. Was like coming home, warm and welcoming with all facilities, spotlessly clean, great accomodation for us and the car. Beautiful balcony and great hosts. Didnt need to lift a finger. Lots little thoughtful extras. We decided to stay longer just because it was so beautiful... but alas, all booked out.... no wonder. Helpful communication before we arrived, together with friendly greeting and information provided about Strahan. A short pleasant walk along the waterfront to the village and to our Gordon River cruise. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday night and well-reviewed cafes were all closed, but we were in time to stock up on groceries from the IGA. Our studio unit 2 was very spacious and comfortable but was quite dark.

This place is run beautifully to provide a perfect holiday retreat. It’s located just a short, pretty walk along the river to the departure point for the World Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River. The unit is spacious, impeccably clean and well maintained, and provides generous basics (seasonings, sauces, oil etc) for easy self-catering. The free laundry was a bonus. Mick and Prue are friendly, helpful hosts. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

We stayed for two nights in Unit 2 which was adequate for our needs. The room was clean with basic furnishings though the bed was the hardest we slept on whilst in Tasmania. This is a great location, easily walkable to the Gordon River cruise check-in. We did find the numerous passive-aggressive notes regarding recycling and cleaning quite humerous and probably not necessary.

Stayed in unit 3. OMG magnificent. Upon arrival was met immediately by the host Prue who introduced herself to me with a lovely friendly greeting. Checking faultless. Accommodation 5***** in every aspect from in room to the laundry. Perfect area to everything in town. This is a place you could book in for a long stay and never feel closed in like other places. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

Very comfortable chalet style accommodation. Spacious and clean. The kitchen equipped with more than just the basics which made our impromptu bbq for 6 so much easier- oil, salt & pepper and tin foil together with a scrupulously clean communal bbq area with all the utensils. Reception staff very helpful on arrival. We were late arriving so couldn’t stay to pick their brains more as we had to chase off to the local play. Location ideal. Five minute walk into town. Directly opposite Risby Cove restaurant which was also great. Wonderful sunsets right across the road, reflecting over the harbour and close to embarkation for cruises on the Gordon River.

Beautifully presented two bedroom cabin, huge lounge / kitchen / dining perfect for a family looking for extra space. Short walk to wharf and restaurants. Fantastic hosts, super flexible, welcoming and informative with great local tips.

We stayed here for five nights after doing the Overland Track and just loved the serenity, the friendly service, privacy, local walks, proximity to all that Strahan has to offer and self-catering facilities. As it was Easter weekend it was impossible to get in to local restaurants so BBQ and kitchen facilities were great. Megs and her crew were very accommodating and helpful. Wonderful stay.

We arrived quite late in the afternoon and were welcomed by our friendly hosts. Our chalet was warm and inviting on entering. Everything you could need was there, it was very spacious, spotlessly clean and welcoming. After a meal in town, we arrived back to our chalet, imagine how wonderful it was to get into a bed that was warm due to the electric blanket being turned on. Bliss.

Excellent accomodation for price and walking distance into town. Had everything we needed and the special touches of fresh milk and Sheridan accessories was a touch of luxury. Exceptionally clean and well presented. Owners were great and had good knowledge of the area. We ate across the road at Risby Cove and it was delicious and staff were very friendly.

We stayed 2 nights at The Crays, unit 2. We were so pleased with the accomodation, it was nice and clean, roomy, quiet and great location. The garden setting was very relaxing and I enjoyed making use of the outdoor seating on our deck. We had a brand new lounge in our unit and found it very comfortable. So glad we were able to be accommodated on the second night as a last minute decision. Full of wine and food after our cruise, the last thing we wanted to do was get in the car and head off to the next town. Would definitely stay here again when next in Strahan.

We stayed one night here and the place reminded me of the apartment I had in the early 1970’s. There were two bedrooms and the king bedroom had less space to move around than did the two twin bedroom. The place was clean, well equipped and in a convenient location. Also we had wi-fi. Remote area - might not be many other options in town.

What wonderful hosts, l had developed health issues between booking and arriving at The Crays- after making the comment that l would not be able to take advantage of our VIP cruise purchase as we would need to drive instead of walking-Megs generously offered to be our taxi for both the cruise and the Wilderness train, giving us door to door service. The furniture was a little dated, but l didn't find it smelly at all as suggested by other reviews. It was a joy to sit out under the covered veranda and enjoy the birds and bees visiting the colourful, well maintained garden and surrounds

The Crays is located about a 6-minute walk around the bay from the centre of Strahan where boat trips depart. Set in attractive gardens and close to the Hogarth falls walk it is quiet and convenient with ample car parking spaces. Our villa (I have to call it that) was large, superb and superbly equipped. We had a big double bed and large walk-in shower and bathroom, a kitchen table, toaster, microwave, fridge, and complimentary tea/coffee/ butter/milk/vegemite/marmalade - you get the picture! Our hosts greeted us at reception. Wi-fi was good (although a bit patchy sometimes) and there was a laundry room for guest use too. It was hard to find any fault except on cool nights the room was cold and poorly insulated. However a big fan heater was available and quickly made the place snug and warm - not to mention the electric blankets!
