First visit to Kashmir nd first time staying at houseboat and omg what an experience we had. We were welcomed with sheer warmth by Tanveerbhai (mgr) & maqbool chacha + sweet nd warm Kahwa. Place of accommodation simply took our breath away. Brand new neat and clean place with much needed central heating especially when outside temp is in -6 deg. Place you can call home away from home - either its for 1 night or more.

I must say that it is really an amazing experience that we have here in our house boat stay. Everything is perfectly managed here. Staff is very cooperative and services are excellent. Infact food is also very yummy👍🏻😋😊

This is a very unique , one of kind experience. The houseboat is gorgeous, the bedrooms are big and beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful and always there to help with anything you need. We loved the meals that were prepared based on our liking. The sunset and sunrise was stunning. Mr. Tanveer and his staff made our stay very pleasant and comfortable. Would love to come back again.

They say a location is defined by the people who represent it and I am overwhelmed to share that entire staff of our house boat no. 4 being led by the manager Mr. Tanveer was the most beautiful interaction of our entire trip. They were soft, polite and very courteous people. Add to this was the beautiful traditional decore and homely food were all icing on the cake. Wish we could have spent more time on the same. Highly recommend.

I recently stayed at the beautiful Welcomehotel Gurkha houseboat (No.2) located by the serene Nigeen lake with my family. It was a blissful experience, right from the location to the houseboat itself with exquisite walnut and devdar wood carving exterior and interiors and traditional Kashmiri home furnishings, very tastefully done. Special mention to our caretaker Ashraf and manager Tanvir for the warm hospitality and taking such good care of us, especially my son. Homemade food especially mutton rogan josh, dal, lotus stem pickles etc were delicious, adding to the traditional Kashmiri feel. Had good long conversations with them and was disheartened to know the low occupancy post Pahalgam incident, even now. I would like to say our entire Kashmir trip was safe and peaceful, truly the heaven on earth. And would highly recommend it if you still are contemplating your Kashmir trip, especially this houseboat stay - totally worth it! P.S. Don't follow the Google map route by car to arrive at this place, it will take you through narrow roads to the backyard side, which is closed! Better take the Shikara boat ride from ghat No.1

We had a wonderful stay at WelcomeHeritage Gurkha Houseboat. The hospitality was warm, the food was delicious, and everything was kept very clean. . The caretakers Ashraf and Riyaz were very attentive to all our needs and provided excellent service . Would love to come again soon . Special thanks to the manager , Tanveer, for making our stay so comfortable.
