水之飯店(The Water)

Prachtig boetiekhotel gebouwd in een rots aan het water van de oude haven van Skiathos. De manager kun je werkelijk alles vragen, en zeer snel antwoord ook. Mijn reis was net voor het seizoen, dus de naastgelegen cocktailbar en restaurant waren gesloten. Vanaf het balkon kijk je op Bourtzi, zeker een aanrader om te bezoeken of wat te drinken. Elke dag housekeeping, koffie op de begane grond en gratis toiletartikelen zoals een tandenborstel, shampoo, conditioner, bodylotion en nog meer. Een echte aanrader! Wanneer je de ramen en deuren sluit dan merk je echt hoe geluiddicht de kamer is!

L hôtel jouit d une vue imprenable sur le port et reste très calme par rapport au reste de la ville et à très proche distance d une petite plage et de la vieille ville . L accueil est chaleureux, la chambre très propre et neuve pas immense mais bénéficiait d une jolie terrasse sur la mer, le lit très confortable. Il est conseillé de dormir avec la Clim à la fois pour le confort et pour couper parfois le bruit de la musique

Super beliggenhet i Skiathos' Old Port, veldig hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening, komfortable rom. Fantastisk utsikt fra verandaen. Kan bli noe forstyrrelser fra baren ved siden av på kveldstid, men lukker man vinduet er det greit.

L'hotel, classificato 4*, è ubicato in una posizione fantastica sul promontorio del vecchio porto dal cui balcone si può ammirare la *****ola di Bourtzi. All'imbrunire si può godere della luce del tramonto che illumina la *****ola e tutta la passeggiata del vecchio porto. Molto comodo da raggiungere dalla fermata del bus o dall'area di parcheggio del porto tramite una bellissima passeggiata su tutta la passeggiata che caratterizza la zona del vecchio porto. Nonostante si trovi sopra dei locali molto frequentati per l'aperitivo ed il dopo cena, non risente in modo particolare della musica e del vociare dei frequentatori dei locali (vero è che a giugno sicuramente la frequentazione dei locali è più "tranquilla" rispetto al cuore dell'estate). Le camere (la ns. era di circa 25mq) sono pulite e dall'arredo sobrio di stile moderno. Non molto grande il bagno (privo del bidè, come capita spesso all'estero) però dotato di una buona doccia e di tutte le dotazioni per il beauty personale (comprensivo anche di un buon asciugacapelli). La nostra stanza aveva un balcone dotato di un tavolino e 2 sedie dove poter gustare un aperitivo oppure prendere al mattino il caffè praticamente sull'acqua. L'hotel non dispone di una portineria h24, però ad ogni viaggiatore è fornita la chiave di ingresso all'hotel (oltre ovviamente a quella della stanza). Ancorché non sia prevista la soluzione bed/breakfeast, ma solo "bed", le stanze sono tutte dotate di bollitore con le bustine per il tè e della macchina nespresso con le apposite capsule per il caffè ed il latte. Particolarmente apprezzata la disponibilità giornaliera nel frigo di 2 bottiglie di acqua di cortesia. Un ringraziamento particolare lo merita il manager Dimitris Loumakis che ha reso il ns. soggiorno ancora più piacevole di quanto già la bellezza di Skiathos favorisca. Infatti fin dall'arrivo si è messo a disposizione per suggerimenti, indicazioni e consigli per rendere il soggiorno più piacevole possibile fornendoci anche il suo nr di cellulare. Sempre reperibile, anche in orario fuori dall'orario di lavoro (reperibile in sede fino alle 19), ci ha fornito il supporto e consigli ogni qualvolta è stato contattato. Grazie mille Dimitris, è anche grazie alla tua squisita gentilezza e disponibilità se stiamo già pensando di tornare.

While the location and the views of this hotel may be among the best on the island, our main takeaway unfortunately is that it’s not to be trusted. We had booked 5 nights in July last summer. When we returned to the hotel after our first day at the beach, our air conditioning had ceased to function. Late that evening, the staff managed to arrange for us to move to another hotel at the top of a steep hill where we could stay for two nights. We then had to move again since new guests would arrive. This second hotel was located right in the city center, and the only view from our room was towards an alley. In 40-degree heat, the afternoon and evening without air conditioning, including the late evening move, was not a very pleasant experience. Not knowing where to stay for the coming nights caused uncertainty and having to change hotels twice added a lot of stress. But above all, our key reason for choosing The Water was the location right by the sea - with the beautiful view and morning swims - and the hotels we were moved to simply did not offer the same experience. Since we did not receive the services we ordered, paid for, and looked forward to, we asked the hotel management for suitable economic compensation, and were promised that they would get back with a “tailored offer”. Despite having reached out several times since then, we still haven’t received an offer, and the last time they did not even bother to answer. Now, we recognise that things can go wrong and appreciate the staff’s efforts to find creative solutions in the moment. However, if you offer a service and for some reason don’t manage to deliver what was agreed, we also believe that it’s up to the hotel management to take responsibility for it.

Lovely property on the waters edge, nicely appointed rooms. Dining at the port steps away! Very nice staff!

it has a wonderful location in the Old Port - very convenient to restaurants and ferry. The attention of the property manager Dimitri was exceptional! He helped us handle a missing luggage issue, recommended great places to eat and was available when we needed him!

We only stayed for a night, but it was in a fantastic and central location, lovely and clean with stunning views across the balcony. Definitely recommend!

The hotel is small and charming and the room is very comfortable. The manager is friendly and very helpful. He gave me excellent tips on where to eat. The hotel is located in the charming part of Skiathos town and is very special. I enjoyed my stay very much… but the bar next door was very loud until 2:30 am! So I had to shut all windows and turn on the aircon instead of enjoying the sound of the waves
