We had previously stayed here for five days back in 2022 and always said we'd come back. To celebrate my husband's special birthday, I booked a week as a surprise. Sadly, the surprise was broken when a member of staff phoned my husband's mobile a month before our stay. They knew it was a surprise and the file, apparently, had been marked with all correspondence via email to me! We arrived to the same Victoria Suite we had last time. I had asked and paid for balloons and a bottle of champagne on arrival and they were there waiting for us. Sadly again, there was no acknowledgement from the hotel about my husband's birthday which I found very disappointing. The suite was beautiful and a godsend as the weather was very mixed and we had a great place to relax. Food is very good but after six nights of sliced meats in different sauces served with a selection of vegetables or salad, we were craving something different and went à la Carte on our last night. This added another £68 to the bill on top of our DBB tariff, which I think was excessive. The staff were wonderful. It's a good old fashioned hotel. They stated jacket and tie preferred for dinner but people were in there in short sleeved shirts! Overall we had a good holiday but felt let down by a ruined surprise and no acknowledgment of my husband's special birthday.

Fantastic 'high quality' hotel. Well located with good quality furnishings. The room was superb, the service is excellent and the breakfast was also very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Paid a brief visit to the Victoria Hotel for coffee while house hunting in Sidmouth. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and recognised us from our previous stays. The management of this hotel maintains very high standards of service throughout, which is greatly appreciated by guests, a considerable number of whom return year after year. Always exceeds our expectations.

Our first visit to The Victoria - it will not be our last. Warm, friendly staff, comfortable rooms with Sky Sports on TV, (a genuine treat !) warm outdoor pool, with dozens of sun beds, great choice of food, easy to walk to many local places, and the hotel is a little gem in 21st century hotel land. Beach across the road and Sidmouth itself a buzzy place - it is in all a joy!

We have stayed at the Victoria many times as a family and absolutely love it. What the hotel offers for a family ranging in age from 3-80 is unsurpassable. We’ll be back!

Excellent service, friendly staff, good facilities although the spa was not open at the time of our visit. Meals were exceptionally high standard.

The staff here made me feel so relaxed I practically glided out of the building when I left! Superb location of course, lovely food too. Just a wonderful, slightly decadent but still relaxing place stay. If you're planning an event - you couldn't be in safer hands!

What a wonderful hotel. We held our Alumni club’s annual lunch here and the team could not have been more helpful. The food was exceptional and the service is second to none. Staying at the hotel was a joy too, the room was lovely and overall the experience was one that will create lasting memories. Thank you to all the team for making it so special, particularly, Dawn, Tony, Duncan and George.
