Pros:
* spacious clean room
* good breakfast opening at 6:30am sharp (doors are locked before then), with lactose-free milk and gluten-free options
* okay pool area (no greenery though)
Cons:
* the A/C was weak, but after running it for one day the room was sufficiently cool (you do need a card in the slot during that day...)
* no ”Do not disturb” sign to hang onto the doorknob
* the desk in the room was small and very annoying for laptop work (round, glass)
* the chairs in the room were not comfortable at all
* out of all the staff, only one front desk person spoke English
* no laundry facilities
* no business room
* old slow elevator
* window didn't insulate from the street noise that well, but I used 33 dB NRR earplugs to block the noise that came through; there are also many rooms that don't face the street
* the front gate didn't open automatically with my key; had to wait for staff to open it; other times it was left open
The Novotel Salvador Hangar Aeroporto best features are its location near the airport, newer facilities than most properties in Salvador, and it operates under the ACCOR hotel brand. Despite these advantages, I must report a unacceptable experience during my stay December 28th to 31st 2022 followed by deplorable managerial customer service in response to verified and documented service failures. I have reported these issues to my travel agency, my corporate travel unit, and my personal travel networks. As I discovered this property using Trip Advisor, I have decided to report this matter for the benefit of my fellow readers. I do not recommend this property for business travelers nor cultural tourism travelers (especially not those seeking afro-Brazilian tourism or those welcoming to the African diaspora). I share some reasons herein: • Unreliable Service: During my stay I experienced one major internet outage over six business hours, as well as minor room outages (less than 30 minutes) on each day of my stay. This hotel was advertised as catering to business travelers, but the hotel provided no updates when internet would be restored despite repeated requests. I did not receive any support to manage the disruption to my teleworking, and personnel were unable/unwilling to facilitate solutions (At one point, I was recommended to use the free internet of one of the shopping malls. Imagine carrying expensive computer equipment to what my taxi driver warned was a “high crime” area). Sadly, the ability of the reception staff to identify solutions was more unreliable than the internet service. • Poor Room Quality: This hotel advertises rooms of high standards of quality, and I am sure many receive good rooms. However, I received a room that was both substandard quality (bathroom sidings and interior furniture water damaged, door malfunction, refrigerator malfunction) and pollutted by the buildings HVAC exhaust being poorly designed, allowing exhaust to flow against rooms on the lower floor (high noise pollution noticeable when sleeping). I believe most guests do not have this experience, as the issue likely affects few rooms on the lower floors. However, when choosing this property, one must ask the question, how does the receptionist decide who receives these rooms which experience high dust inflow and high noise pollution (I have videos and photos available upon request). Why are some customers placed in quality rooms, and others assigned to substandard rooms (noting the hotel has standard room types based on bed requirements)? Why did this hotel property assume that one of their few afro-descendent customers would accept the worst room in the property? • Deplorable Managerial Level Customer Service: Upon checkout, a customer service representative noted my dissatisfaction with my hotel experience, and asked if I would be willing to receive inquires from hotel management the next business day. O hotel parou no tempo, estive lá alguns anos atrás e fiquei num quarto muito bom, ótima cama,arejado,dessa vez foi um pouco frustrante,o quarto q fiquei deixou a desejar, os móveis q eles chamam de guarda roupa ou coisa parecida, estão c cheiro de madeira velha, a mesa, cadeiras e o cômodo próximo a cama tbm estão pedindo por atualização, o ar condicionado ainda eh de parede , um barulho insuportável e o cheiro não tava muito bom....
Como ponto positivo nos quartos espelhos grandes e o banheiro não tinha problemas, embora a área de banho seja pequena......e minha namorada ficou feliz c a qualidade da coberta.....
O frigobar tbm já merece ser trocado,mas funciona...
A piscina e área da piscina estão abandonados, preferi e da uma volta na praia, a decepção pq qria ficar relaxando na piscina do hotel, mas sem condições, vc não sente a menor vontade de ficar na área da piscina....
O café da manhã eh apenas aceitável......
This hotel is truly a gem! I LOVED our stay here and the staff were amazing. Isabella at the rooftop bar is the absolute sweetest hardworking and makes fantastic juices. We loved hanging out at the rooftop it’s truly beautiful! The cleaning service was flexible and the bed was heaven-sent.
JJONO5K1For the price paid, the value is exceptional. The location is safe, 5 metres from the beach (about as close as a hotel can get) and a few minutes walk from supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities. The breakfast as is always the case with Rede Andrade hotels is varied and sizable. This hotel branch is much nicer than two others I stayed at in Salvador with a comfortable lobby area and outside seating courtyard. Though my room was misrepresented as ”an apartment” when it is a normal room, I was fine with it given the low price paid. I had a sea view and the room contained the necessary features, i.e. fridge, TV, hot shower, ac, and towels/soaps. The WiFi was terrible though with no signal at all in the room. Aside from the latter, everything was great as were the staff. Would recommend 100%
訪訪客O Aquarena Hotel é um hotel numa zona bem movimentada, fica de frente para uma avenida e por isso o barulho dos carros pode ser um incômodo. o check in foi demorado e confuso, já havia realizado o pagamento de 50% e mesmo assim fui cobrado novamente, sendo necessário reenviar o comprovante para sanar essa pendenga que deveria estar num sistema do hotel. Ainda, alguns quartos não tem frigobar, mas o hotel vende água e refrigerante na recepção, o detalhe fica para o pagamento, tem que ser imediatamente não sendo possível colocar na conta do quarto, ou você tem como pagar imediatamente ou não leva. A chegada ao hotel é fácil, fica perto da Fonte Nova, o gps não teve problemas para encontrar. O quarto é bem pequeno, o banheiro idem, uma pessoa maior passaria bastante aperto. O café da manhã é bem modesto, o ponto forte fica por conta da tapioca feita na hora. No mais, o hotel possui um bom custo benefício mas não é um dos melhores.
