A very basic stay, which we were surprised about considering the high price of the room. For context, we do “staycations” at various AZ resorts about every 6 weeks so we are quite familiar with the seasonal pricing and offerings of many of the hotel chains. We often stay in either suites or “residences”/“villas” to accommodate our family. These have typically features the usual hotel and resort amenities, and often have private outdoor sitting areas and sometimes private plunge pools. With these being called the Westin Villas, and charging nearly $900/night for a one bedroom suite, we were certainly expecting a similar experience. Disappointingly, we arrived to find first, that they do not offer valet or bell staff to assist with luggage. Next, that there is no room service, and that housekeeping is only done every other morning and can’t be requested otherwise. The “villa” was a decent sized one bedroom suite with no private outdoor space. Soap etc was provided, but no other personal care items like cotton pads, dental kits, or nespresso type machine (a regular coffee maker was there). They do have a washer/dryer/dishwasher with soap which is really nice for an extended stay. We did take notice of the mosquitos in the room, which were likely due to the fact that the entrance door had a sizable gap in the seal (photo)—not a great thing on a ground floor in Arizona where all kinds of pests could get in. We didn’t check out the Villa pool as we headed over to the Westin resort pools for their Lazy River. That feature was cool, but the pool area and chairs could use a good cleaning or replacement as most were dirty/stained and not in great shape. Overall, this isn’t a bad accommodation, especially for families with kids doing an extended stay and willing to do their own grocery shopping and cooking etc, *however* for the high price it was absolutely not meeting expectations imo.
