瓦爾馬赫力德飯店(Hotel Varmahlid)

Dit hotel was onderdeel van onze rondreis. De receptiemedewerkers en de restaurantbediening was allervriendelijkst. Dat was het beste van het geheel. Het hotel is gedateerd, de kamers was wat klein en benauwd en douche en toilet zijn verouderd. Bij gebrek aan restaurants hebben we in het hotel gegeten. Het eten was wel goed en zag er netjes uit. Ontbijt was sober. In de omgeving is vrijwel niets te doen voor niet-supersportieve mensen. Je kunt ergens raften en paardrijden en naar een verafgelegen waterval die niet te vinden is, maar dat is het dan. Er is een klein plaggenkerkje in de buurt maar daar ben je snel uitgekeken. Goed voor een nachtje, maar een opknapbeurt voor het hotel is echt wel nodig.

Hotel un peu vieillot. Nous avions "l'appartement" pour 4 personnes. Il est localisé au rez-de-chaussée, à côté de la réserve.... peu lumineux, il est également très bruyant (bruits du personnel dans la réserve et bruits des voisins du dessus). La salle de bain est vétuste et d'un état douteux. Le petit déjeuner est correct, sans plus. Cela peut être une étape pour une nuit mais guère plus

Es ist ein relativ einfaches Hotel, aber sehr sauber und ordentlich, ein gutes Frühstück ist dabei und abends kann man sehr gut essen. Das Hotel hat einen Aufzug und einen großzügigen Parkplatz unterhalb ist auch eine Tankstelle. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind sehr einfach. Das Zimmer (trotz Upgrade auf ein Dreibett Zimmer) war winzig. Es gab nicht einmal einen Kasten oder eine Garderobe. Gott sei Dank waren wir dort nur eine Nacht auf der Durchreise. Lobenswert ist das Essen. Die Auswahl beschränkt sich zwar nur auf ein paar Vorspeisen und 3 Hauptgerichte, diese waren aber ausgezeichnet.

This is an older property that could use some updates... carpets, linens and the bathroom. It did have everything we need and it was a sight for sore eyes after driving from the east in a snow storm. The staff were amazing... friendly and wanted to help however they could. I would recommend this property.

The score would have been 5* based on the superb dinner and great service we had at this hotel. However, the breakfast was a total disappoin**ent. We were told it opened at 7.30 am so went down minutes after that, only to find that a coach party had been there for a while and some of the buffet was seriously depleted. Surprisingly (and the only place we experienced this) there was no hot food at all. And as supplies ran out they were not replaced. So we and 3 other non-coach-party guests had to make do with what was left. Shame as it spoilt our experience.

Great stay at Hotel Varmahlíð as we drove the Ring Road. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, easy parking and clean room. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast from their hotel restaurant.

We have a family room here, but it's actually a whole apar**ent: a living room with two beds , TV, sofa, cupboards and a sleeping room with a double bed. In the living room water boiler and coffee and tea. Everything is very clean, spacious, the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is also big and clean. Towels, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, toilet - everything okay. We had here dinner, the food was very good and tasty. The service is super friendly: the two young ladies at the reception and the restaurant are really kind. The one at the reception came out to show the entrance of our room.

We are doing an Iceland round trip and our travel agency booked this for us. We had a bit low expectations coming here judging by the reviews but we were happily surprised! The staff was friendly. The room felt newly renovated and was clean and had all you needed including comfy beds and nice ecological shampoo and conditioner. No signs of rust anywhere as mentioned in other reviews. The bathroom had some smell from the water but we have experienced much worse so far during this trip and with the door closed it didn’t reach the main room. The windows opened if you felt the need to let some fresh air in. Breakfast was also nice and had everything we needed like yogurt, bread, boiled egg, some fruits, coffee and muffins but not things like bacon, scrambled eggs or waffles. If you get the same experience that we had there’s no need to worry and you will be satisfied!
