The location of this hotel is absolutely second to none. It sits close to the end of the long, pedestrianised, promenade ***** of Kamari’s numerous bars & shops alongside the beach & literally a few strides from the beautiful beach & the hotel’s plentiful, free cushioned sun beds & straw parasols. The beach area for the hotel is supervised by hotel staff & drinks can be ordered from sun beds & belongings feel very safe & secure. Beach, sea bed is stony - beach/swim shoes are a must. The hotel’s swimming pool is large, clean & inviting with a lifeguard on duty & lights up breathtakingly beautifully at night ! Pool bar area is lovely with attentive staff & lovely cocktails/ smoothies etc . A nice pool/games room is right next to the swimming pool for a quick game . The pool area is very relaxing but could do with a few more sun beds for a large hotel, as people hog them. Sunbed policy of leaving the beds for more than 30 minutes, then losing them, is not enforced at all. The bedroom for myself & 2 teenage boys was very clean, well proportioned & v comfy beds with plenty of storage space, however, the shower was really exceptionally tiny & narrow & I’m a woman ofaverage size/ height. Older son had to shower by the pool as couldn’t move in it . Great ground floor location though & large patio area , with courtyard view, right near the pool & restaurant. Wifi intermittent. Stayed B&B - the choice / standard of breakfast is average but had to prompt for replenishments of small spoons, tea bags, sugar, bowls etc each day . Young lads waiting on are chatting away instead of being on the ball - doesn’t seem to be a restaurant manager . Uniforms of waiting on staff are pale blue shirts, which unfortunately show wet sweat stains - unable to be helped of course, but a more apt colour to camouflage would be a better choice in a restaurant setting . Chairs are metal so scrape constantly on the tiles which grates after a while . Instead of aircon in the restaurant, large wall mounted fans are blowing on high, which send peoples long hair flying in all directions which is off putting with food about. Kamari is cosmopolitan, large and lively. A must is a visit to stunning Oia - 40 euros each way in a taxi (around 2 hours by 2 buses receptionist told us). Overall, some issues not withstanding, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Hotel Kamari Beach when staying in beautiful Santorini.
