安佳小屋旅館(Anchor Inn and Cottages)

We recently spent a week here and the property Managers were great. We had a problem with our shower the first night and the next day they jumped into action. They did not have a comparable room available so they upgraded us to one of their awesome cottages. We met great people and highly enjoyed the properties amenities horseshoes, bikes, the pool and a quick walk to parks and the beach. Highly recommend if you are looking to relax and meet wonderful people.

If you are looking to relax out... This the place toooooo be! It's no frills. Just strait up Florida enjoyment! You have natural beauty, on property! Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, a wildlife refuge. The management are amazing folks, they will take care of you!!! We paid for a week.... Unfortunately... our shower didn't work. They! Took! Care of us! You will have NO worries here! We had... the most amazing vacation here! Plus... people from all over come here! It's literally a box of chocolates! Your gonna never know what kind of friend your gonna meet! We made friends with Ro n Michael plus a family from Holland on this trip! Amazing! Highly recommend!

If you lost money from the Anchor Inn, tell your charge card company. They will investigate it for you. I got my money back in FULL!! I decided since they were not calling me back I would fight to get my money back. They lost and I won!! Maybe next time when someone has to cancel, they’ll call them back.

We had booked for the third week of July for only four days. My husband wound up in the hospital and we had to cancel. I didn’t think we would get our money back. As when I booked it said no cancellation. They had called me because we did not make the first night and they left a message. I called them three or four times left messages on the machine and never got an answer. Last message I left I told him to please call me. Nothing! We have stayed there twice before and we will never stay there again.

First time reviewer on Tripadvisor hoping this helps people avoid the headaches I've had to deal with since February 2022. Have billing issues where they overcharged more than $400 and never refunded me fully. This wasn't discovered until March when my credit card statement came out. This all started when we were trying to split the bill after they had fully charged my credit card 2 days before the stay was to occur. They said that they'd be able to refund me and they'd charge the rest to the other person's credit card. Well they charged the other person's credit card but didn't give me the full refund that was supposed to go to my card. Anyway, after playing phone tag with Dee (the supervisor?) for 4 months and her not returning my phone calls, I'm posting this review in hopes that no one else falls for their stories. I'd give this place 1 star because they ripped me off but the on site staff at the time were super friendly and very accommodating. Just expect your credit card to be charged for the full amount before your stay and don't try to get a refund or expect any return calls from Dee.

We have been vacationing on Sanibel for a decade, but this was our first time staying at the Anchor Inn. The pool was great, they had free beach stuff, and were super nice. The price point is reasonable, too, and we enjoyed the extra funds to explore some of the great restaurants within walking distance.

If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton and a hotel to pamper your baby soft skin, this isn't it. But if you want an island vacation with a laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff, this is it. Since I've stayed here three different times, I guess it's safe to say I like it. It's quiet, yet friendly. The rooms are clean and so is the pool. They provide beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas. You can rent bikes from the property (but I always go through Finnemore's).

The inn has good bones to be a charming quaint place. The pool and pond lend relaxing feel and seem well maintained. But my room smelled and was not comfortable. The bathroom was a" phone booth" with no where to lay products and the bed/lighting/were poor.In the tiny closet was a dirty broom. The chairs sitting outside my room were broken and dirty. I was not comfortable and left. If they invested even a little money in better soft materials, more modern feels, better bath products, and brought things up a notch this could be a lovely quaint spot. The location is wonderful. Much improvement needed

First I will say, the property manager couple was extremely friendly and helpful and I don’t believe any of my “cons” have to do with them. The cottages were built in the 80s and haven’t been touched since, other than the floors and shower. First impression walking up to the cottage you can see the water stains / mold on the living room curtains through the windows and then you get hit with the mildew smell. If you have asthma or allergies to mold- do not stay here. I went to use the night stand and it was completely covered in mold. The shower curtain was also covered in mold. I realize you can easily replace these things, but it boggles my mind why they haven’t been replaced for customers spending $275 a night!!! The electrical outlets and wiring would never pass inspection. All of the furniture is wicker from the 80s and could be arranged better, I didn’t bother to use the dresser and left everything in my suitcase to hopefully prevent it from smelling like mildew. Pros: clean floors and counters (other than sugar bugs), clean sheets, good location, free laundry (which flooded after 1 load and the dryer took 2 hours). To sum it up, the owner isn’t putting a penny into this place. The cottage wood beams are beautiful, but the walls need to be torn down and replaced to get rid of the mold in the walls and simple furniture and decor need to be replaced. The only reason I didn’t mention any of this at the time is because I thought it was $130 a night, only to look back and see that I paid more than double that.
