- I sent an email to the hotel the day before to check if they are able to send a shuttle to the airport to pick me up (just to avoid the stress of figuring out transportation), but they only replied once I landed. It wasn’t worth for me to wait for them to come and pick me up. - The room was loft style and very spacious: two stories with two full bathrooms, and kitchenette. I didn’t need them, but they were available. However, the shower upstairs next to the bedroom was missing a door, water was splashing out and making everywhere wet. Also, the shower didn’t drain well. It was gross to have my feet in dirty water… same with the sink, water wasn’t draining well. The hotel provided one hand towel and two large towels. They were old and rugged. I went out to buy my own. The bed was comfortable! So were the pillows & sheets! Thank you for that! - I’m training for a marathon and it was important to me that the hotel had a gym so that I can keep up with my training. This hotel had one treadmill and it wasn’t working. I guess next time I need to check before I book. - My room doesn’t have a window and hence very dark, gloomy, and depressing. Luckily I don’t have to spend too much time here. I told the receptionist and she said that that’s the room that was assigned to me. I let it go. - The hotel is in downtown and walking distance from all major “things to do” in San Jose city. But I have to say that the pictures online look a lot better than the reality of the hotel. - Would I stay here again? Only if I need to sleep somewhere for one night.

Stayed here on a tour of Costa Rica, for a total of three nights on arrival and between our extension. Typical city hotel, very comfy and large rooms with big bathrooms, plenty of toiletries etc. Lovely staff, although not very attentive in the main restaurant! We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant - all good. Also a great meal in the Japanese restaurant. It was quite cool, they keep the aircon on quite high and the weather was windy and cloudy so turned it off in our room! Nothing much nearby, very convenient for airport but only a supermarket and McDonalds within walking distance. The park was ok for a quick walk, only a few yards away.

I am writing to share my recent experience at Hotel Cultura Plaza in San Jose, Costa Rica, and to caution those considering a reservation at this establishment. During my stay at the hotel, I encountered a significant issue with the room I was assigned. Unfortunately, some of the rooms at this hotel do not have windows and resemble prison cells rather than comfortable accommodations. Understandably, I refused to accept such a room and immediately contacted Booking.com to seek a resolution. To my disappointment, the hotel displayed a lack of cooperation, even after three hours of mediation with Booking.com. Despite our best efforts, the hotel refused to address the issue adequately, leading to the cancellation of my reservation. Furthermore, the hotel has also declined to refund the payment I made for the booking. Throughout this process, their responses were consistently rude and unhelpful, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. In addition to the room issue, I feel it is important to mention that the dining room for breakfast at Hotel Cultura Plaza is extremely small, akin to a small bar with only about four tables. This limited space may make it challenging to find a seat during busy periods, and it can detract from the overall dining experience. Given my disappointing experience and the hotel's uncooperative attitude, I want to urge prospective customers to exercise caution when considering a reservation at Hotel Cultura Plaza. Please be aware of the lack of windows in some rooms, the prison cell-like appearance, and the limited dining space for breakfast. It is my hope that by sharing this message, I can help others make informed decisions and avoid potential frustrations. As consumers, we should be able to expect a certain level of quality and service when choosing accommodations, and unfortunately, Hotel Cultura Plaza fell short of these expectations. The reason for the lower rating is because of the shower. It was a trickle of water. One thing all travels value in their hotel choice is a powerful, hot shower. The sink had plenty of force, so I expect the shower could have had as well. Breakfast service was very nice, as you're given some choice and it is made fresh. The bar/restaurant is comfortable with good size TVs for watching sporting events (thanks for letting us stay late to finish the Super Bowl.) The men reported the pizza to be good. The staff help with arranging a shuttle to the airport, at the same rate everyone was charging. This old building does have lots of charm.

Muy bien ubicado, a 10 minutos del centro de la ciudad. Excelente atención de todo el personal, desayuno completo, habitaciones amplias y cómodas y la señal de wi fi andaba muy bien. Cuenta con estacionamiento y el bar es excelente

酒店在高速路旁，但是隔音不錯，很安靜。酒店標準比較高，就是周圍比較荒涼，不是在市區。有到機場的班車，但是上午和下午各有一班，基本趕不上，需要坐計程車，20分鐘左右。附近有個比較有名的Multi Plaza ，是大型購物商場，頂樓有個美食廣場，很多吃的，有中餐，碰到一對華人母女，推薦了蝦仁飯，確實不錯，就是量太大了，小份的都吃不完...
