Très bel hôtel, vintage et plein de charme. Accueil chaleureux même avec notre bébé, un lit bébé avait été préparé. Grande chambre Deluxe avec lit gigantesque qui se poursuit dans la veine vintage, très charmant. Petit déjeuner copieux, le classique English Breakfast ne déçoit pas. Dans le centre ville de Rye, très jolie ville historique.

An early spring weekend spent exploring 1066 Country. Hotel location excellent for Rye and the surrounding area. Friendly service and good breakfast. Room at the rear of the hotel was comfortable and spacious, but both evenings you could hear music from a nearby building until 11pm or so. Also, as it was March, we were told just before our trip that the restaurant was “closed for the season”. Plenty of good places to eat in Rye, but had we known when booking, we may have chosen a different hotel.

Very pleased with the appearance of the room, cleanliness, friendly staff, good breakfast, tea making facility (which included new biscuits every day). Perfectly situated to visit Rye. It was only let down by the uncomfortable mattress.

Staff welcoming. Breakfast lovely and central location to every thing. Room 10 has mould around bathroom windows and look rotten. Didn’t have bath as bath tub looked dirty and shower rail all rusty. Cobwebs everywhere and mattress dipped in middle. Both woke up in pain. Shame as breakfast was lovely and so central. Just room was very small as well. Wouldn’t mind that if it was cleaned well.

They have updated some of the rooms, but not the bathroom. The bathroom was extremely tired with gaps in the shading of the window, so you can see in and out. Breakfast was a shambles! Despite having waited nearly 30mins, our breakfast was given to another couple that had just arrived. They apologised for the mixup but continued to serve others food. We had to wait nearly an hour all in all. Was it worth it? No. Also worth noting the smashed avocado is actually pre-packaged guacamole, accompanied with hard boiled poached eggs. Location is excellent.

Initially we thought the hotel looked slightly shabby and unloved. However we changed our minds as soon as we reached our room which was beautiful. Obviously newly renovated and spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is perfect for restaurants and pubs and very quiet. The staff are so hardworking, especially reception and breakfast (which was fabulous). I would definitely recommend and obviously would stay again.

Really friendly and helpful staff and a lovely first impression - especially in the reception area which is beautifully decorated. Our room was a newly refurbished 'deluxe' one on the top floor with views over the town, harbour and countryside beyond. Very clean, comfy super-king bed and good sized clean bathroom with bath and shower. The decor was nice and room was modern and a bit boxy, but nice. Huge roof terrace which would be lovely in the summer. The water pipes were very loud and intrusive during the night which did disturb our sleep quite a bit though! Good breakfast served by lovely staff.
