I never leave bad reviews but was so disappointed this time round. We stayed in this Hotel and used the Spa back in August and let’s just say it’s really gone down hill since then. The Spa is absolutely filthy.. I left my phone in my locker I am so disappointed I didn’t take any photos because I think it would be shut down by environmental health! Grime everywhere, changing rooms dusty, no shower gel/shampoo/conditioner just empty containers. No locks on the lockers just big holes, last time there was some effort to point out working lockers and provide info on how to use them but this time there was nothing just take our money and throw us downstairs. Towels discarded all over in the changing rooms and on the beds, paper cups everywhere. The whole time we were there no member of staff came down to tidy up the mess. Floating bits in the jacuzzi and pool. It was busy last time we came but not overwhelming, you can tell there was no thought or consideration in managing numbers so people could use the facilities we’ve paid £25 for, for just an hours use. The sauna and steam room were cold, we reported this to the reception and it remained the same temperature for the further 45mins we were there. Decided to escape the grime of the spa and go to the little room by the spa reception to have a cup of tea, kettle not even on? No milk? I then tried some of the infused water which had citrus fruit in, it had gone rancid so the water must have been sat there for days. Was told by the spa receptionist the water heater being off was to ‘save money on costs’ not very luxurious if you ask me. All the special touches from last time seemed to have gone, and it looks like this has became a cost cutting exercise while charging a premium price. Even the robes and towels didn’t smell fresh at all. We are local people who just come to this hotel as a get away from the kids! So disappointed this time. There are far better facilities available in Liverpool this has really gone down hill. Will not be returning.
