The good - there couldn’t be a better location. This is right in the center of the tourist area. Many shops, restaurants, and the famous “rainbow street”. Beds are comfortable, a nespresso maker with pods in the room.
The bad - It was not made clear when I booked this hotel that it is fully self-serve. There is not a receptionist, or any staff there. I was emailed a code to get into the hotel and another code for the room. There was a group of elderly women who had been just sitting in the lobby for hours, unsure of what to do. The luggage storage is unsecured and unattended, which made me nervous. If you need two beds instead of one, email them ahead of time because you will not see an employee. There is no deadbolt or way to secure the room door from the inside. As two young women in a foreign country, this made us nervous. We pushed a chair against the door so at least we would wake up if someone entered.
The very bad - there is a live band in the bar on floor one. Every night. Our room was on floor two, exactly above the band. They started playing at 8pm and stopped at exactly 11pm, and it sounded like they were playing inside of our room it was so loud. If you plan to be out and about until 11 or later, this isn’t a problem. However, if you are exhausted from a long flight and haven’t slept in over 24 hours, it will be torture. Even with ear plugs it was loud. The band was quite good though, and played a wide variety of songs.
