Pretty old hotel and not worst the price

These are the negatives Like a solid 4.1/5 -Lack of electric charger -Food was expensive -Cleaners only did 2 days we were there -Small bathroom towels -Short people shower head -Parking was a bit of a pain in the butt $36 per day??? Nits

Had a full ocean view room. Loved sitting on the balcony and watching the waves crash over the break wall. Watched USC game in the bar while enjoying drinks and apps. In the morning took a nice walk around the waterfront/pier. Always enjoy our time here.

Only one of the 3 elevators working. Didn't keep our reservation for the room type. Pool towels that were more like hand towels. TV in room kept going out. AC in room sounded like a jet airplane taking off. Pool water so salty it would burn your eyes. Other than that, great location. Subpar Sonesta for sure.

Hotel not busy during our stay, asking for higher floor however the front desk lady said it is not available. Give us a room in 3rd floor which is same level as pool people can see us. No privacy at all. And we are paying extra than regular price

No place to hang towels in bathroom (difficult with 4 people), broken reading light above bed, no in room microwave, dirty patio chairs & unswept patio with broken patio table, jacuzzi was NOT hot (barely lukewarm... people would step in and immediately get out) and not clean (sandy on bottom, in poor repair),pool is nice and big but area is bare and looks abandoned. No room service for 5 days (you have to request new towels daily). Room was not ready at check in time, so we stored our luggage with valet which was then temporarily "lost" when we came back to the room (this inconvenience was compensated with free self park, which we appreciated), and the first time we used the valet, they claimed we didn't park valet because we didn't have a ticket (because they never gave us one- all 4 of us were present at time of giving vehicle to valet) It seemed the staff had trouble communicating with each other during shift changes, etc. GREAT location, friendly staff (especially in the on site gift store) but overall overpriced for a place with broken/missing items, a gross jacuzzi, and unreliable service. Would not stay there again... would go up the beach a few miles to Hermosa instead!

Beautiful hotel,very clean. First class service. Excellent location. However, the rooms need to be renovated.

Some of the staff working in the front desk were not welcoming or helpful. Refrigerator in the room had a bad smell. Towels had a burnt smell.
