康德亞斯索圖飯店(Candeias do Souto)

Arrivando qui si deve avere un certo spirito di curiosità perchè il Posto dista circa 8 km dalla Cittadina. La stada che ci porta a destinazione è panoramica di giorno, molto buia di notte. Attorno ci sono distese infinite di alberi di castagno ed è un piacere fermarsi e guardarsi intorno. Finalmente, si arriva in un Paesino semideserto e piuttosto intrigante perchè potrebbe essere appartenuto ad un film di Sergio Leone. Il navigatore ci conduce davanti ad una casa in pietra, bella e recentemente ristrutturata. Suonando, veniamo accolti con grande cordialità da una Signora che ci mostra un po' tutto, dalla cantina al giardino interno. La camera è bella linda, con porta finestra che ci permette di accedere al giardino. Mi hanno fatto posteggiare in cortile perchè ci sono anche gli attacchi elettrici per l'auto. Purtroppo sarebbe utilizzabile la presa Shuko ma non ho il cavo. La presa "maggiore" non accetta il mio cavo "tipo2". La camera va benissimo in tutto tranne il fatto che fa molto caldo e non c'è aria condizionata. Paradossalmente la può riscaldare perchè, a quanto pare, lì fa spesso freddo. Peccato, altrimenti avrei dato le 5*. La colazione è proporzionata anche al costo complessivo, veramente molto onesto. Un Posto che consiglio, soprattutto per poi varcare il confine verso la Spagna. Un autentico posto di confine, inaspettato ma molto apprezzato. Per gli amanti della natura e delle cose semplici.

Excellente halte d’une nuit qui nous a donné de revenir explorer le parc de Montesinho!

The Hotel is located in the village of Meixedo, which is incredibly small and incredibly old. But the Candeias was amazing! It is an incredibly restored old building. The old stone walls were beautiful. Our room was large and modern. The bathroom was modern and very nicely laid out. The hotel has a beautiful terrace and garden area. This place was a find! The only problem was parking. We could park on the street, but they also had a small lot. The problem was that part of the entrance to the lot was on a bad angle and we bottomed out our car before deciding that the car needed to stay on the street.

I got lost because there is apparently more than one location in Portugal with the same address. The main issue is that I showed up after 7:00 and no one would respond to the doorbell and my knocking on the door. This place is in the middle of nowhere and no signage other than non lighted small signage. So I spent three hours looking for the place, no one would let me in and so I expect a full refund. It’s also very dangerous to drive in that area at night as there is no street lights, tiny roads and pitch black. Worst experience of my life and never even stayed there. Had to get another hotel room which was a challenge at 10 PM!

This guesthouse is located in a small village about a 10-15 minute drive from the historic town of Bragança. We had a very friendly welcome in this old stone house. The place has been tastefully renovated, preserving the original rustic basis while providing all the modern conveniences. Some of the rooms in this big house have been reserved as sort of museum rooms and demonstrate how living here was a hundred years ago or more. The only thing we would do differently next time would be to select a larger room. Ours was very “cozy” but we could have used a bit more space. Perhaps this was the only double room available when I booked—can’t remember. There was no air-conditioning in the room, but the ventilator was sufficient. This could possibly be an issue for some guests in periods of even hotter weather, although the stone walls are probably good at keeping the temps moderate. Breakfast was typical for guesthouses of this category in Portugal. A lounge room and garden are available with free coffee and tea anytime, along with some cold drinks or wine at a very reasonable charge. All in all it was a very pleasant and recommendable stay. We don't have much to complain about regarding this stay. We would probably book a larger room next time--ours was cozy but just a bit too small for our liking.

Nice, confortable and cozy place to stay. If you're visiting Montesinho National Park, that's a lovely place for a base camp. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are impeccable clean and confortable. Very nice breakfast, with quite a few choices of bread and homemade cakes. For sure, you won't be desapointed.

Uma casa muito bem recuperada, que oferece uma estadia perfeita e ainda tem espaços interiores curiosos e que merecem uma visita para ver como era a vida noutros tempos. Os quartos são agradáveis, tem uma sala de estar e um terraço. Pequeno almoço completo e um atendimento muitíssimo simpático e disponível.

Local mágico. Casa absolutamente fantástica. Simpatia e aquele sentimento de que nos conhecemos desde sempre. Um agradecimento especial à Marlene, inexcedível no trato, e na ajuda em aconselhar, e mostrar que Bragança, é, de facto, maravilhosa. Esse reino fantástico. A repetir.
