First of all, a huge compliment to the Kempinski Soma Bay staff for their extremely kind, helpful and attentive attitude which makes for a pampering holiday. In the following text I'll refer to my experiences in the different areas of the hotel. - Laguna Lounge Club: The service and cooking staff were outstanding and excellent. They could easily read your wishes as they remembered the preferences of previous orders and felt encouraged to ask for special requests. We were therefore extremely grateful to be able to order Egyptian breakfast and dinner every day! We thank Mr. Diaa (Manager), Mr. Abdel Fattah, Mr. Mohamed, Mr. Barsoum, Mr. Bassem, Mr. Sameh, Mr. Khadre and the others for their courtesy and speed at every moment, no matter how stressful and challenging the day was. - Room Service: Many thanks to Mr. Moaz for cleaning and tidying our room twice a day. Your respectful and friendly attitude will stay with us. - Beach Service: The beach staff were very accommodating, always going the extra mile to fulfil requests. Thank you for regularly checking our needs and for your good humour despite working in the hot sun! - Concierge: Lovely Mr. Ahmed, who miraculously solves any problem you can think of. He came to our aid and made it possible for us to track down a lost mobile phone when my son left it in a taxi. - Guest Relations: We would like to give a big compliment to Mr Pascale from Guest Relation. He organised the day trips to Cairo and Luxor in the most efficient way. - The Lady in Red: Likewise, Ms. Yousr, the Lady in Red, was our quick helping hand and her reliable demeanour never left us alone, even taking care of us on excursions by phone. Indeed, Soma Bay is the crown jewel of the Egyptian coast in which the Kempinski Soma Bay is embedded. The most beautiful beaches and coral reefs are to be found here.

Well, for that price its not bad. Pools are big (but some of them very cold), many sunbeds, hotel pretty, beach pretty, coral reef close to the bridge, nice room service, good sport animations and evening shows, guys on reception very nice and helpful But now disadventages: - food is ok, but dont expect anything special - a la carte dinners: italian ok, indian not ok, especially service which was terrible. Actually I would say those a la carte dinners are not italian and indian, but they are egiptian variation of those cuisines - there is gym, but its small and its very hot inside (its cooler outside of the gym than inside). One of the treadmills breaks from time to time. Only heavy dumbbells. There is no paper towel to clean the equipment after you use it - drinks. Well, they are, but their quality is bad. They are being done as quickly as possible and so carelessly, that sometimes its even hard to drink it (for example worst mojito I have ever drunk). The exception is Olympus Pool Bar where those nice guys try to do their job decently - no straws. Really, its not that expensive... - every day you need to say 10 times ”no thank you” for people who want to sell you spa, safari, diving or photos. Even though you told them no 5 times during your stay, they still ask you. Its so tiring Overall its not a bad hotel. For that price I can recommend it, but keep in mind those aspects from above. Also if you read very positive opinions here, keep in mind that some of them might have been written by animator on guests phone. Once he has done it to myself, but I have later removed it. He asked me politely to write opinion, I wrote it but it had not enough characters, so he added his part to it which was rather different than what I wrote
