瑪雅別墅飯店(Hotel Villa Maya)

In 2022 waren we hier ook. En omdat we het zo fijn hadden gehad dit jaar voor een paar dagen terug gegaan. Er waren wel twee dingen die we vorig jaar heel fijn vonden, maar die waren dit jaar anders. Het ontbijt was niet meer in buffet vorm je moest van tevoren aan geven wat je als ontbijt wilde dat was wel goed geregeld maar anders en we konden niet meer buiten zitten. Dat vonden we wel heel jammer Ook miste we dit jaar het tuinhuis waar we vorig jaar heerlijk wat konden drinken. Maar de plek was nog steeds geweldig.

Struttura bella e con un grande potenziale ma decisamente migliorabile, soprattutto nei servizi. La camera grande e spaziosa (una "suite" d'angolo con salottino e bagno recentemente rifatto). Materasso buono anche se troppo "sostenuto", lenzuola di ottima fattura. Molto bella la piscina di forma sinuosa, poche persone e molta pace. Personale gentile e discreto. Veniamo alle note "dolenti": La colazione da prenotare il giorno prima è più utile agli albergatori che agli ospiti. Primo perché non si può scegliere nel dettaglio (barrare la voce "salumi" non si sa cosa voglia dire: il primo giorno ho trovato due fettine (DUE) di speck, il secondo tre fettine di orrenda spalla industriale) e secondo perché in questo modo la scelta è troppo ridotta e mancano totalmente i prodotti locali e "fatti in casa" (torte, marmellate, miele locale, uova strapazzate, pomodori, pane integrale, ecc) per favorire i monoporzione industriali già predisposti ai tavoli. Il cliente deve poter scegliere e servirsi a volontà (il primo giorno ho provato a chiedere un secondo croissant ma non c'era). Il "bar tisaneria" all'ingresso offre solo qualcosa da bere: niente gelati per i bambini (d'agosto, in una giornata trascorsa in piscina!). Niente servizio pranzo, neanche qualche facile insalata o piatto pronto, costringendo il cliente a prendere la macchina per cercare altrove... Direi che per il prezzo della stanza il servizio vada decisamente migliorato.

Molto bello il posto, tranquillo e gentilissimi i proprietari. Ottimo il parcheggio. Mangiare ottimo, sia colazione che cena con prodotti di alta qualità . Unica pecca la camera: aria condizionata insufficiente e il bagno senza bidet: neppure avevo guardato se lo avesse, per me era ovvio ci fosse (infatti del senno di poi era scritto ma ….. assurdo!)

L"hotel è suggestivo e molto bello. Il parco circostante, con la piscina, tranquillissimo. La zona ottimale, perché la strada nn è frequentata. L'unica nota dolente è il bagno, essenziale, senza bidet e un po' strettino. La stanza molto basica, pulita e ordinata. Materasso e cuscino comodo. Colazione semplice. Nulla di spettacolare, ma con varietàdi scelta. Forse solo un po' caro, nel complesso.

Nous ne sommes restés qu'une nuit dans cet hôtel situé à une trentaine de minutes de Pise. En pleine campagne, l'emplacement est calme mais l'hôtel est très mal insonorisé ! Et c'est dommage. Bruits de canalisation, portes qui claques, voisins dans leurs chambres... Les extérieurs sont jolies mais les chambres vieillotes et les sanitaires mériteraient d'être remis au goût du jour. Le restaurant à l'air très bon malheureusement nous sommes arrivés trop tard, 9h28 pour le petit déjeuner qui s'arrête à 9h30 tappante ce qui est un peu tôt pour un hôtel.

I booked this hotel as a special birthday present for my husband who has always wanted to visit Italy. I was impressed by the beautiful pictures and the stunning food shown on Instagram. Plus the location was ideal and I wanted something traditionally Italian rather than a big chain hotel. It is brilliantly situated for exploring Tuscany and you are within a maximum of an hours drive to visit pretty much anywhere of note in the area. We had a hire car and went to Pisa (20 mins), Lucca (40 mins), Florence (60 mins) and Viareggio (45 mins). Parking on site and the hotel was very easy to find. It is a very traditional building with lovely original furniture and decor. Our room was upstairs in the main house and plenty big enough with a large balcony. The bathroom was basic but did the job. Bed was comfy. The gardens are lovely with some beautiful views out over the Tuscan countryside. Unfortunately we only got to use the pool area once as we wanted to get out and about lots but it was a nice area with plenty of different seating and the pool was clean and well maintained. Negatives: unfortunately there were a few which did diminish our initial positive opinion of the hotel on first arrival. Bar - there was meant to be a bar but it appeared shut during our whole stay and was not mentioned to us. Air Con - although our room had air con as advertised it was an old style unit in corner of room which was noisy and could well be a problem for people who are light sleepers. Noise - we also found it to be quite noisy until late at night and again very early in the mornings. I think this is probably due to the age and layout of the building however again worth noting if you want quiet sleep. The reception/foyer is very echoey so we could hear the front door and other doors banging and people speaking in reception from our room. On 2 of our 3 nights a neighbouring room also had their TV on very loud until well after midnight, again this could be heard through the walls. Same issue with doors in the morning along with being able to hear people outside in the garden meaning we were awoken before 7 everyday, not what we personally want when on holiday. Restaurant - this unfortunately was our biggest disappointment of our stay, possibly since we are big foodies and were really looking forward to it. I had found the chef on Instagram and spent weeks before our visit enjoying the amazing food pictures in anticipation. I had also messaged the hotel to book a table in advance and informed them that it was my husbands birthday so a special visit. On entry to the restaurant we were the only ones there except for a single man already seated. We had to wait a considerable amount of time before a lady appeared and showed us to our table. The restaurant looked beautiful on entry (see photo) however our table had not been set to the same standard as the back of the room tables and was missing things like the napkin rings etc. and the table mats were d

Prachtige plek. Mooie villa met mooie kamer. De tuin is heel groot met een zwembad en veel ligstoelen. In de tuin zijn ook diverse zitjes. Later in de middag ging het theehuis open waar ze drankjes en koffie en thee hadden. Bij een drankje kregen we altijd wel iets lekker bij. En wij vonden het niet duur. Ook het ontbijt was prima verzorgt. Het ligt best wel gunstig. Ook heeft Cascina een treinstation.
