波特蘭霍克斯頓飯店(The Hoxton, Portland)

Hotel is very pretty. There is no room service available and some good options for food near by. Hotel coffee shop was closed during stay Friday & Sat. Tequila bar on top was packed on a Sat. Would have liked to know there was no room service available prior to booking. Desk said they are having technical difficulty taking it off site…Homelessness is very present in this area. Front desk staff were very nice and accommodating.

Liked: Modern, upscale decor, quirky-cool touches like old-fashioned working radio in the room, mod light fixtures. Did not like: rude staff, bad, super-salty (yet expensive) food, the worst Manhattan ever (bartender said,”we’re out of cherries” plunked the drink down and turned her back). Was told upon arrival there was live music in the main floor bar, no mention of tickets. When we arrived to check it out, they told us we needed tickets, and the person at the door did not have tickets. Stuff like that.

The biggest issue is the room itself. A standard room of a 130 square feet with a view on a wall. A room of one bed and a restroom, that is it. I think this is the worst experience of staying in hotels I ever had in my entire life. One night costs ~220$ for 2 people 50 parking a night. I don’t get what’s the price for?? Don’t ever come here…

Awesome location if you’re seeing anyone at the Roseland Theater. Pretty cool to snag voodoo doughnuts kitty corner to the hotel. That hotel and rooms were amazing as well was the rooftop bar/restaurant!

I loved the look and feel, it was very cozy, unique, and interesting. All the staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. I also like the hotel company’s intentionality toward sustainability and community support. I would definitely stay again. I only wish parking wasn’t so expensive.

The hotel is excellent, the decor is lovely, and the staff is accommodating. I was expecting the hotel to be lively like Chicago but was pretty calm including when we grabbed cocktails on the rooftop bar/restaurant. There are lots of homeless around the area with tents in the area along with shelters a few blocks away. Several people we passed on the streets were doing ***** and there were several cars with broken windows. I'm from Chicago and while I cant say I'm not familiar with homelessness, the area was almost like coming towards Skid Row in LA. Just be aware of yourself while in close vicinity. BUT no more than a 10-minute walk you find yourself in a better area with stores like Reformation, CB2, and Whole Foods.

Great location and suggestions on what to do in the area. Parking is a little rough on weekend however valet service is available. Chill vibe and no modern space. I have the shoe box room and concept is just cool and collective.

My only complaint was that we could not get more than 3 channels to work on the tv. Which usually wouldn’t matter but our concert was canceled so we planned on just staying in and relaxing. We also didn’t ask for help to get it fixed though because we were too lazy. 😂 overall great stay!

It was comfortable and clean and the staff was really nice! The price was right and it includes generous portions of coffee, tea, water, etc. A couple of things I didn’t love were the comforter/sheet duo, they don’t use traditional fitted sheet linens so the mattress cover easily becomes exposed. If there is a way to permanently turn the bathroom lights off, the ones in my room didn’t work, and randomly turned on in the middle of the night, I’m not sure if it’s because I slept with the bathroom door open and it’s so close to the bed it was turned on by my movement? The rooms are small and having that door open makes it feel bigger so it was personally a little off to me having that happen. There are fridges in the room they’re just very small, you could only fit small leftovers in there. I didn’t personally want to walk around alone past about 9:30pm but otherwise it was fine, I took the transit a lot and it was easy to access from there and I didn’t have any bad experiences but other people did say they had some.
