The property is on 3 floors, within 50 metres of the beach at Aberavon Seafront, the National Coastal Path and National Cycle Path, and has views over the Swansea Bay and Margam mountain. Aberavon Seafront is one of Wales’ longest sandy beaches with a contemporary promenade that overlooks Swansea Bay.During the summer, Aberavon is great for water sports including surfing, kayaking, windsurfing and fishing and there are a number of clubs operating organised activities from the beach itself, including the popular Aberavon Surf and Lifesaving Club.In the winter the seafront is popular with dog walkers, families and cyclists all wrapped up in their winter woollens, but throughout the rest of the year Aberavon is great for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the sea air.Along with beautiful views over Swansea Bay, Aberavon Seafront also serves up numerous cafes, ice cream parlours, restaurants and public houses where you can count on finding everything from traditional fish and chips to excellent quality dining. Many people visit Aberavon Seafront for a leisurely stroll or cycle ride along the easily accessible promenade which gently meanders above the two mile long sandy beach. But, if you are looking for something a little more active try the Adventure Golf Course, Aqua Splash Play Pool, Adventure Playground and Toddler Playground for great fun in the outdoors. Aberavon Seafront is also home to the Aberavon Leisure and Fitness Centre, the Reel six screen cinema and its own hotel, all offer great fun and the opportunity to relax whatever the weather.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 10:30 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 13-17.About customRules:Please note that 2 pieces of Identification are required prior to your booking being approved. Afan Valley Holiday Home is an old Miners Cottage, built in 1901 set in the beautiful village of Cymmer – in the heart of the spectacular Afan Forest Park. The area is popular with Mountain Bikers & Hikers due to the array of tracks & trails in the area – we offer secure bike storage for your stay. The cottage is situated midway between the stunning sea views of the Gower & the Brecon Beacons National Park – so you can wake up and decide which direction to drive to, or stay locally for a walk or a ride.Aberavon Beach is a 13 miles away also – so beach days are very much possible as well as hill days. Please do note, the cottage is on a main road, so road noise is likely during your stay. Please note, there are no stairgates fitted so if you think they will be required please bring travel stairgates with you.We will accept up to two well behaved dogs by prior arrangement, £20 per dog per stay & ask that any damage is compensated. Please also note that this is our home away from home - The house is an old Miners Cottage, built in 1901 & is a fabulous slice of Welsh history in itself. It has uneven floorboards that creak a bit upstairs, an original staircase that's a little steeper than newer houses, original stained glass in some areas inside the cottage - it's a fun space that has character inside & out - but it is not a Boutique Hotel, so please do not expect the style & finish of one - we think it's cosy & a great place to relax after a day out on the hills and hope you do too.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs (limit 2 total). We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 3-17.About checkIn:Check in after 5:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 21.About events:No events allowed.
