匹茲堡南側智選假日飯店(Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh-South Side, an IHG Hotel)

The hotel is close to the center of Pittsburgh (south side of the Monongahela river). The city can be easily explored on foot from there, you can reach the downtown area in 30 minutes on foot. Only negative point is that you need to walk through rather shady area which might some people feeling unsafe with. The hotel itself is good, the room was spacious and the beds very comfortable, the bathroom though showed tiny spots of mold - nothing serious though. Breakfast was served downstairs in a nice environment. It had a big selection (eggs, bacon, sausages, sweets, bread, cream cheese, jam and yoghurts as well as oatmeal) and was very tasty - which we enjoyed. The coffee machine inside the room was really crappy, I pressed the button for inserting the coffee and it fell almost apart. I notified the receptionist and he told me I could always get coffee and hot water from the breakfast area which was highly appreciated. As I stayed there on a weekend I used a public parking lot - for free - in the direct vicinity and did not pay for the rather expensive hotel parking.

There was a Toenail clipping left on the floor by the bed and there were sheers in the room and no way to make the room dark to sleep at night.

Location is easily accessible by public transport, cleanliness is just average , not changing towels without request ,

Not bad over the river from city, room wasn’t serviced each night but spacious and a good little breakfast bar.

this listing on ******* made this place look worth while.THEY LIED.This place is an abomination.we were greeted by the rudest receptionist. She took issue that I booked through ******* using a venmo credit card. It’s a visa! why does it matter?! She insisted I use another card despite having already paid. Told me it would be a month before I saw any charges from them. It’s 2023, what kind of scam are you trying to pull?She said it would be an additional charge for us to park-$22 a night.Before heading to park, the receptionist stated that the back entrance (the hotel entrance from the parking lot directly across from a behavioral health facility) may be broken and that our cards would not work,we’d have to walk around to the front after parking.we parked and found the back door to the hotel unlocked and wide open. It wouldn’t close;it wouldn’t lock.Very unsafe. we got to our room, the dirtiest hotel room I’ve seen. It hadnt been vacuumed or dusted in ages. There were stains on the mirror ,grime on the windows, and stains in the bathtub. When we looked at the sheets we found stains that looked like someone had been sleeping on them without changing them for weeks, huge drool stains.we were troubled to see blood stains on the ceiling. Strangely, this room had leaves behind the bed,not a stray leaf, handfuls as if someone brought them in from outside.we couldn’t stay and chose to end our stay early. The only bright spot was the manager as we were leaving.DO NOT STAY HERE!

The best part about this hotel was its proximity to downtown areas, and the water pressure in the shower. I would say the whole bathroom was great, but then I saw all the mold along the top of one of the walls. The rest of the room wasn’t dirty so much as just run down. I don’t mind run down as long as it’s clean, especially the bed, but the mattress seemed like the most run down part. I woke up every hour or so with one spring or another poking my back or side. There was only one working elevator, which meant long waits. Parking will cost you an additional $22/night, but at least you could come and go from the lot. Which was made even easier since one of the arms was permanently raised, because the side with the room key entrance swipe was broken. Overall, I give the experience a 4/10, only because I don’t visit places just to stay in a hotel room.
