Fantastic hotel

I would like to say our stay here was cut short, the rooms were freezing and that's not a joke we had the heating on maximum and we could feel the cold in the room , the maximum bar was letting out minimum heat like maximum was number 1 on the radiator. The staff ended up getting us a plug in radiator which helped if you put it on full overnight. Also i was not informed that on the Saturday night there was going to be a party so the noise of drunk people going to there rooms from 12.30am to around 1.45am was a bit frustrating to say the least. And because they had a party in the restaurant we had to sit in a bar at 7.30pm when it was full of people for the party and we had to endure noise and foul language whilst eating. The cleanliness of the hotel was not great either with the sticky feeling on the chairs and dirt stains on the seats. I definitely won't be back. Disgruntled customer.

The worst bit of our one night stay was finding car parking. We eventually got into the hotel over flow car park. So be warned , otherwise you are in a pay & display car park! The hotel wasn’t as bad as I feared from some reviews. Our room was clean & perfect for one night. Breakfast was your standard fare. Freshly cooked hot choices. A bit of investment could make this a lovely hotel

Great location very near the city centre, so easy to walk in. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was extremely comfortable. However, the condition of the room while very clean was rather 'tired'. I appreciate cost is an issue here, but the bathroom let the room down. Also, the bedding sheets did not fit the king size bed and the duvet cover was coming away at the seams. We added breakfast to our stay and that was delicious - and plentiful.

During the night early hours 2am woken by movement and noise like furniture being moved, maybe from above. Bit annoying as stay otherwise was fine. If I return would not want a ground floor room

No lifts, tattered furniture, uncomfortable bed, and horrible service in their restaurant. Left 1 day early as we couldn’t take another night there. The location was good-that was about it. False representation in their website. Traveler beware.

I think this hotel has seen better days. My room was pretty tired and could do with a complete upgrade. The main issue was that the window did t close properly which was great as it’s a ground floor right by the main entrance so I was woke up at 5 in the morning by people leaving. Not to mention the wind blowing straight in that would have been a real problem if had been any colder outside.

The hotel looks lovely from outside and it has unique features preserved from being water mill. Room was clean but basic. The hotel could do with refurbishment as looks tired. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.
