Liegt das Elgin Pelling und bietet einen tollen Blick auf das Bergpanorama - wenn mal kein Nebel ist. Dafür darf *** mitunter sehr früh aufstehen. 🙄 Wenn das Wetter gut ist, kann *** den hübsch angelegten Außenbereich super nutzen. Ansonsten bietet das Hotel wirklich geschultes, nicht immer aufgewecktes Personal, eher abgewohnte Zimmer mit Holzplattenbett, Plastikeimer im Bad und dünnglasigen Fenstern. Der Heizlüfter war nötig und leistungsstark! Traurig der Speisesaal mit Büffet und begrenzter Getränkeauswahl. Wirklich nervig fanden wir die omnipräsente europäische Klavier- und Marschmusik. A lovely period, heritage hotel in Pelling. After a long and 'interesting ' drive on the mountain roads we were great full to arrive at this little peaceful oasis. It's beautifully situated on the steep hill side, close to a number of interesting sites (walking distance) with lovely, well-tended gardens - beautifully manicured and perfect for enjoying afternoon tea. The lounge and bar area evoke the style of the 1930s/40s - perfect for relaxing with a g&t. The dining room though is bright and featureless - a disappointment. It's possible though to eat on the terrace away from the noise of the dining room (why do people want to share their video-calls with everyone?). It's not an intimate dining room - catering for families and groups. The food is fine - good selection and well prepared. But the menu is perhaps too big - trying to be too international. I'm not a fan of buffet food and I guess it's my fault for opting to try it...it was fine but I don't like some dishes being luke-warm nor others stirring through my food. Not all dishes claimed were available either. The bedroom (deluxe) was quite small, but adequate for a 2 night stay. It would benefit from some refurbishment, as could the bathroom. All dated rather than in keeping with period of the hotel. The bed, though very large, was also very hard and uncomfortable. The ensuite bathroom did need modernising. However I forgive these things in a hotel like this - i don't want my hotels to lack character. The staff, of course, were all fabulous and helpful!

The hotel offered an exceptional experience with delicious food and an absolutely breathtaking view. Special thanks to the amazing staff — Choden, Norkey, Sangita, Suprina, Pravakar, and Suvasis — for their outstanding hospitality and warm service. They truly made our stay memorable!
