卡爾頓飯店(The Parkmore Hotel)

Where do we Start? Was charged $150 breakage deposit that was unexpected. When researching on their website it quoted $100 in the fine print. The same site stated continental breakfasts as a feature, there was none, thankfully the Parkside Cafe was down the street. Highly recommended. The room was very basic, missing many expected inclusions, simple things like no cutlery to even stir a cup of tea, no info folder (as found in every other place we have stayed) with local attractions/eateries or even how to operate the TV. The staff at the front counter were rude when asked for more tea/sugar, like it was too much trouble. There was no mattress protector so we could read the brand of the mattress through the bottom sheet! The shower screen was missing leaving sharp brackets exposed. All electrical items in the room lacked test and tag certification. The ceiling of the balcony had sheet hanging, looking like it'll collapse anytime soon. Finally, when exiting the carpark at the end of our stay, we followed the signs and painted arrows and came face to face with a huge pile of rubbish blocking the exit behind the building meaning you had to exit via the entry. Not a good last impression. AVOID!

We stayed one night as it was convenient for us as it was close to the venue we were going to… shower was gross, stains on bed linen and carpets, cramped space, room smelt gross fridge was ick, no spoons and the elevator buttons didn’t work when we first got there… Was hoping it would look like the photos but people photos can be deceiving!!! Also our car ticket was written on a bit of paper… so anyone need free parking just chuck a bit of paper with ya rego on the dash…

Everything about this place was Horrendous. The bathroom was mouldy and had no door, the shower door was broken, the staff were not friendly or helpful and extremely unprofessional, they even smoked cigarettes at the door we were unloading our bags near. I’ve never had a worse Experience at a hotel, they made you pay a security deposit for damage to the room but every part of the room was already damaged ! I’m complete disgusted and disappointed I spent money there, the health authorities should shut them down!

Perfect location and overall good stay. Hotel management needs to get on top of e.g. having the pool ready all-year round (n the days of Wim Hof - not sure why - being popular) people may want to have a dip all year. Certainly if and when, like last weekend (i stayed for 4 days) it was a first 28 degrees in Melb. Great to see the hotel is attending to the gardens, beautifying it!

This hotel is one to give a big miss too New owners and staff need to clean the place up and organise themselves. the whole place is dirty, aircons don't work, amenities are scarce ie 1 wine glass 1 mug no tea except green tea. lights left on all day. furniture in actual pool from one visit to the next. cigarette butts everywhere.

The location of the property was good, but that is about where it stopped. The toilet wouldn't flush and every morning we would ask them to fix it, it would be 'fixed' and then stop flushing properly again leaving literal cr*p in the bowl. The room was not serviced the entire time we were there despite both having the 'please make up my room' sign and asking them to do it. There was coffee, but no spoons. The property itself was very run down, holes in the ceiling, a smoke detector in one of the rooms was covered in a plastic bag, a closed restaurant that looked like the place was deserted.
