My family of 4 (myself, wife, and daughters age 9 and 11) stayed at the Renaissance Vendome during our time in Paris, and overall we had a fantastic experience there. The location, food, staff, and room were all excellent. If you are looking for a great hotel in Paris that is central to everything, this hotel comes highly recommended. I'll break down each part of our stay below. Location: Location was one of the biggest factors we considered when we picked our hotel for Paris. We were only staying 3 nights, and we wanted to be able to walk as much as we could to avoid the subway or paying for taxis. The location of the Renaissance Vendome is excellent, it's just north of the Louvre, and walkable to the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, the Palais Garnier and many other sites. It's on a very quiet, low traffic traffic street which was great since Paris was packed with tourists. We really liked the location of the hotel and were able to walk everywhere and only used 3 Ubers during our entire stay. Room: When we were looking for a hotel room in Paris that could sleep 2 adults and 2 kids we had quite a bit of trouble finding a suitable hotel. We have Platinum Elite status with Marriott, so we wanted to stay at a Marriott hotel because of the perks. We had 3 different hotels booked prior to the Renaissance; we had a two-level suite at the Renaissance Eiffel Tower that we cancelled because it was too far west of town, we had 2 rooms at the Westin (which is very close to the Vendome) but they were not connected and the hotel could not guarantee they would even be on the same floor, and a 2 double room at the Marriott on the Champs Elysses. But we ended up biting the bullet and paying for the Cosy Suite at the Vendome, and honestly it was worth every penny. The suite was originally 2 rooms that had been converted into a single suite, so we had 2 full bathrooms which was really helpful with getting ready in the morning. The kids had 2 beds in the living room (a foldout and the sofa bed) so they each had their own bed, and there was a separate TV in there as well. The bedroom had a queen bed, and a small walkabout balcony has well. There was tons of storage in the room, and the staff had left a bottle of champagne and a nice hand written welcome note in the room for us which was a great touch. While the room was expensive, the extra space and 2 bathrooms really made our stay in Paris more enjoyable. Staff: The staff at the Renaissance Vendome was great. Check-in was fast, and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. The brought us champagne while we were checking in, and juices for the kids. The staff was all English speaking (we had learned enough French to check into the hotel in French if needed, but I am sure they could tell we were Americans). The waiters are the breakfast restaurant were great, and the concierge in the lobby always stopped to talk to us and find out what we had done that day. Food and drinks: With the Platinum Elite
