Welcome to paradise. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff were amazing, so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is situated off a narrow street and within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The rooms were very well appointed and always immaculate. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. The only criticism I would make about breakfast is that you should provide guests with a menu for hot breakfast. We had a few drinks in the bar during our stay and it was very quiet. An idea would be to have some low level background music on. It truly was a delightful stay at this hotel. Palma is such an amazing city with plenty to see and do. Thank you to all the staff at the Summum for a great holiday.

Fourth stay in a Melia Hotel, first in Spain. Stayed in Level Accommodation with lounge access, drinks and snacks throughout the day and breakfast away from main restaurant. Lydia on reception was very helpful. Everything about the level accommodation was excellent, well worth the extra. The staff without exception were attentive and extremely efficient throughout the hotel. We felt very well looked after. Our room was on the 8th floor and was very comfortable. Very modern as expected from Melia and lovely view of marina, superyachts and cathedral. Lovely bedlinen and three pillows to choose from. Balcony with two chairs. Table and one chair in room plus two seater sofa. Shower was rainshower and powerful/hot. We kept the privacy curtain closed as the bathroom is seperated by a glass wall, which even after many years of marriage, we prefer to keep some things private! Spotlessly clean.Had to ask for extra hangers, always a problem in hotels we find. 6 coat hangers per couple is very meagre. Taxis into Palma vary, we paid between 12 euros and 18 euros. We also used the bus which stops opposite the hotel. And therein lies a big negative about this hotel. The roadworks outside. This extends from the cathedral right the way through past all of the marina which is a vast area. Half the road has been dug up but there doesnt seem to be much reconstruction occuring. Taxi drivers told us this has been going on for months and they are very fed up with it. The hotel side is fenced to hide the works for over a mile, but the paths are dusty and getting across the road is difficult. Many of the shops/restaurants are obscured behind this fence The area is very dusty, rubble everywhere and uneven. A big problem for older and/or people with poor mobility. It also spoils the view from the Melia. Sitting in the level lounge, the view of the marina and the beautiful yachts is spoiled. We were aware that this was a busy road past the hotel, but were never informed of the ongoing roadworks which was disappointing to arrive to see the extent of the building work going on in this area. There is no construction noise, as nothing seems to be happening at present. The roadworks were obscured thank goodness from our 8th floor room. There is noise from the traffic but minimal. Food in Level Lounge was fresh, frequently refreshed and staff worked very hard to keep it fully stocked throughout day. Hot options include spanish omlette, scrabbled eggs, bacon. Lots of lovely fruits, croisants, bread. Smoked salmon and cheeses. Amazing cakes available throughout day. 5 - 7 pm out comes the spirits and extra snacks, all delicious. Wine, coffee, tea, soft drinks, water and beer available throughout day up to 11 pm. Lots of seating, including squashy sofas, outside area and computer facilities. All located on floor above main reception area. We chose to eat out in the evening. The Italian restaurant on the right hand side of the hotel was very good.
