冰島克雷塔大樓飯店(Klettar Tower Iceland)

Eine Übernachtung im Klettar Tower im Zuge einer Islandrundreise ist als einzigartige Abwechslung zu empfehlen. Für uns war eine Nacht im Turm aber auch ausreichend. Der starke Wind war die ganze Nacht sehr laut. Aber für das Wetter kann niemand was. Einen Punkt Abzug für die leider nicht sehr gepflegte Ausstattung des kleinen Küchenblocks.

This is one of the most unique and coolest places I have stayed at in my years of international travels. A silo converted into 4 bedrooms and a rooftop lounge - who would have imagined that? There were 7 of us travelling and we were lucky to have the entire tower to ourselves. The bedrooms exceeded my expectation in that they have very modern and hi-tech facilities inside (such as the ceiling ambiance lights that change colours), while keeping a simplistic and clean design. The rooms are well equipped with power outlets; safety equipment like fire extinguisher, fire blanket, smoke detector; a small kitchenette with sink, stove and kitchenware; a tabletop attached to the wall along with 2 chairs; and even a small portable fan. There are drawers under the bed for storage. The bathroom is spacious and has a large wall mirror and heated towel rack. Rooms on upper floors have much stronger water pressure than the ground floor. Lots of natural lights in the rooms. One of the windows is screened to prevent bugs from flying in. We left that window open for air circulation. Biting midges can be an issue at night time during summer. We were lucky we didn't come across these bugs as the temperature was exceptionally cool during our visit, but that screened window would have prevented the issue. Wi-Fi works well. In contrary to other comments I have read, I found the bedroom to be of a decent size; there's enough floor space to open up a suitcase or two - the issue is bringing a full suitcase up the winding staircase to the upper floors. That's why I transferred what I needed for the 1-night stay into my carry on. There are 4 parking spots at the bottom of the tower, clearly marked with each apartment number. The metal staircase that goes around the outside of the tower is non-slip but has open slats. Those who are scared of heights may want to pick the lower floors. The rooftop lounge, with windows all around, provides panoramic views of the surrounding area. It will be a great place to watch the northern lights while staying warm indoors. When people go up and down the metal staircase, the sound carries through the tower. It doesn't bother me, but it may be annoying to some. My daughter on the 4th floor said she could hear me talking from my 3rd floor room - something to be aware of. Overall, very happy with the stay and look forward to visiting again and staying longer!

This was such a fabulous place to stay! We enjoyed it so much. Super clean, very unique and memorable. They did such an amazing job converting the silo to a hotel. LOVED It! Thank you!

Séjour atypique dans un espace bien décoré et optimisé. Tout est à notre disposition pour passer un bon séjour. Le petit plus : l’espace cosy en haut pour observer les aurores boréales ( dommage je n’ai vu cela qu’au moment de mon départ car je n’ai pas vu d’indications mentionnant l’accès possible). Proximité intéressante de pas mal de points clés a voir dans la région

Had much higher expectations. A few specific disappointments where : no window covering on bathroom window. Another guest quite possibly saw our bathroom being used. Top observation area had a smell that was not pleasant at all. Scenery of surrounding buildings not pleasing to look at. Had rain, and stairs where slippery, and no lighting for walkway leading to stairs for tower and no lighting for parking area. Whil faculty did have refrigerator, it was unplugged when we arrived and did not chill our items while we stayed. Not an aweful experience, but not a wonderful experience we were looking forward to. Disappointed and would not stay again.

Buena ubicación cerca del círculo dorado. Alojamiento con mucho encanto, habitación muy acogedora con vistas espectaculares. Estábamos en la habitación número 4, la más alta (por encima está el mirador), hacía mucho viento pero la habitación aún así era acogedora y caliente.

Muy pequeño pero acogedor, si acaso le pongo un pero es que la regadera esta pegada al baño y la inclinación del piso no es suficiente para que no se vaya agua al baño, pero en general muy bueno

Th accommodation is a converted silo tower - built by a member of the family who live on a nearby farm. The room is snug but perfectly adequate for a few days. The fittings are really clever and make great use of the space. The gem is the viewing tower - even if you do not see the northern lights the sunrises and sunsets are amazing from this place. If you like something quirky you will love this. The secret lagoon is a must as it is so close and far less commercialised than other lagoons. It is well situated to see Gullfoss, Geysir, Tingvellier, Skogfoss, bridge of continents. I would definitely return to this place. I cannot recommend highly enough.
