赫蘭飯店和Spa(The Headland Hotel and Spa)

Wir hatten zwei Ocean Suiten gebucht und auch vom Hotel rückbestätigt bekommen. Allerdings gab es diese Zimmer bei unserer Ankunft nicht. Das Checkin hat fast 2 (!!) Stunden gedauert bis wir irgendein Zimmer bekommen hatten. Man erzählte uns immer wieder eine neue Geschichte (Lüge) warum es unser Zimmer nicht gab. Vor allem die sogenannte Duty Managerin Becky (falls sie überhaupt so hieß) sagte, wenn uns das nicht passt können wir wieder abreisen. Selbst auf das Bestätigungsmail hin aus dem Hotel sagte sie, dass wir nicht die Zimmer im Mail gebucht hätten. Es war unglaublich. So viele Jahre des Reisens, aber das was in diesem Hotel abgeht, das kann es normalerweise nicht geben. Ich würde es nicht glauben, wenn ich es nicht selbst erlebt hätte. Wie kann ein Hotel, dass so arbeitet, einen Preis nach dem anderen gewinnen? Eine Nacht mussten wir in einem Zimmer mit einem Bett (Größe ca. 180x150 cm) schlafen. Am nächsten Tag bekamen wir von einem sogenannten Manager ein anderes, etwas größeres Zimmer. Man spendierte uns auch ein Abendessen als Entschädigung für 4 Nächte. Außerdem refundierte man uns auch einen kleinen Betrag. Alles in allem aber unglaublich was man sich dort leistet. Natürlich ist die Lages des Hotels fulminant. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und gut, da kann man nichts Negatives sagen. Das Abendessen im Restaurant ist gehobene Mittelklasse, allerdings ist die Lärmkulisse im Restaurant unerträglich. Das sogenannte Beachrestaurant ist von der Einrichtung her grindig, verschmutzt und die Essensqualität das Letzte. Man versucht erst gar nicht die Tische abzuwischen, da sie sowieso schon so verschmutzt sind. Trotz der optimalen Lage in Nequay würde ich auf keinem Fall wieder dort wohnen wollen. Hier ist der Gast nur zweitrangig!!!

My husband and I stayed for one night (Fri-Sat) for my birthday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Even on booking the staff were more than helpful when we had a query with our online booking, ringing back once we’d made the booking online to confirm which room we’d prefer - they really went above and beyond. Which meant when we arrived we were prepared for the view/location of our room, which was phenomenal dual aspect sea views and a fantastic view point for Fistral Beach, stunning! The room we stayed in was a little dated but we actually liked how this matches the era of the hotel. We had a four poster room and it was so spacious with a sofa to relax on as well as two armchairs in the window to make the most of the beach view. Everything was very clean and well kept. There was also a coffee machine, small fridge alongside the other usual hotel room equipment you’d expect. I’d also been kindly gifted a free cocktail and had been left some chocolates with a small birthday note, really lovely! The bed was SUPER comfy! Our only down point with our overnight stay was unfortunately the room next to ours obviously decided to carry on their social once the bar/restaurant had shut and there were two couple loudly having some kind of debate past midnight which work me up, my husband made a call to reception and we can’t fault how swiftly and professionally it was dealt with. The restaurant has recently been renovated and although we didn’t have dinner at the hotel we visited for some evening cocktails and sat at the bar, as it was opening night there was a real buzz and the staff were clearly very happy to be there and very helpful and friendly whilst being professional. Unfortunately my favourite cocktail is a Mojito which wasn’t on the menu but this was not a problem to the bar manager and he whipped my one up, and it was honestly the best one I’ve ever had; we’ve been to many establishments where staff have absolutely no idea how to make or serve cocktails but it was clear the staff here knew exactly what they were doing. The restaurant itself is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast the next day, and the views are obviously (for the hotels location) stunning! A great continental selection also. We used both the spa facilities within the hotel (in the basement area) which were deserted on the Saturday morning so we had this to ourselves, great facilities and lovely and clean. We also used the brand new Aqua Club facilities on the Friday evening and Saturday late morning/afternoon, unbelievable facilities, fantastic views and just extremely relaxing. Even though it was slightly busy on the Saturday it didn’t feel over crowded like some spas we’ve been too. The staff were always friendly and helpful and it was no problem walking between both facilities with your robes on. We would absolutely stay here again in fact I can’t wait to book again!

Excellent in EVERY way. Great staff, lovely Hotel, very comfortable room, super views and very good restaurants. Very comfortable beds, the rooms were well appointed and the Spas looked terrific although we did not use them.

We stayed at the Headland for 3 nights from 13th July. The weather was awful but we enjoyed the facilities of the hotel even more. The new spa area was wonderful as was the food in main restaurant. Service in all restaurants was excellent, all staff were friendly and professional, especially Reece, Justin and Sarah Jayne in Renmor. The only irritating things were being woken by dogs barking in adjacent rooms and dogs on sofas in lounge which seems to be tolerated. The lap pool in spa seems to be colonised by children a lot of the time when there was plenty of space in main pool. Some supervision here would be a help. We missed the outside pool which is now filled in but understand why. Would definatley visit again. Steve & Hilary

Came here for the second year running for my wifes birthday, we did the Dip and Dine deal for £65pp with welcome drink and meal. As last year we had an amazing time and the food and cocktails was stunning, was a lovely break from the kids lol. Our only complaint which would be an easy fix would be to have the big glass wall looking out to the stunning sea view cleaned more regularly, it is one of the biggest features of the spa and its always got dried on water marks. Apart from that great night had and will definitely be back next year 😍

We’ve stayed in the the hotel a number of times as a couple previously and given it great reviews so it’s only fair that when we had a bad experience we also highlight this. We only came in to use the spa facilities as we had our daughter with us, we paid £135 for 3 hours only to find the main spa area closed including the shower you use before you get in, the main hot tub was also half broken and there was a man in there recording on his phone. We ended up getting a refund, which was given without question, hence the additional star. Hopefully this is a one off but there should really be rules in the spa for mobile phones, people come here to relax and having people record your 17 year old daughter in her bikini isn’t relaxing, especially when the person doing it doesn’t even care after you’ve mentioned it to them.

A wonderful stay! We booked at last minute owing to a problem with another hotel and we’re so glad we did! We were looked after so well, such a professional, yet personable service at all times. We will definitely be returning.

The most amazing.few.days away, in a home from home environment, from the minute you walk un you feel you're at home surrounded by friends, one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and nothing disappointed, and the Spa is a relaxing retreat away from the world.

The staff were the best thing about this hotel - super friendly and helpful, where hotel policy allowed. Good view on the coast and some nice features, including comfortable sofas in ballroom. We got the Ocean View room - supposedly best available, but totally not worth the £440 per night rate we were charged. The rooms were small and very ordinary, especially bathroom with shower in bath and no mixer taps. Nothing particularly wrong with them - clean etc - and would have been reasonably happy if cost was half that rate. Not sure what the point of the ‘golf’ was. Pitch and putt with barely any evidence of maintenance. Mostly losing ball in scrubland. No point taking clubs and equipment lent out is inadequate even for a bit of fun. Spa has been done nicely. Careful thought in design, attention to detail and execution. Other than water in rooms in glass bottles, no evidence of sustainable or climate conscious practises. Must be huge waste from buffet breakfast. Disposable plastic glasses in spa. No info on how spa is powered - must be huge energy demand to heat outdoor pools, run jets, clean towels etc.
