卡潘塔阿姆斯賓館(The Carpenters Arms)

We stopped in room 2 buttercup. Absolutely appalling. The carpet ajoining the bathroom was soaking wet. To my horror when taking the sheets off, the matress protector had body fluids stains on it. Told Luke the staff member and he said I will buy another. Then proceeded to charge for an extra night. So pleased we checked the web page before leaving, a refund was sort. The taps on the bath were loose. Luke said there was indeed a leak that had tried to be repaired. Obviously not. Why was this room let out if it was substandard. Fortunately only stayed 2 nights. The food although a little pricey was on the whole good. Breakfast had to find a member of staff then took ages to be served. Staff were pleasant but the accommadation leaves less to be desired.

Beautiful & quaint & quiet accommodation adjacent to the pub. The staff are wonderful, upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room by Kimberly who also came to our rescue and drove us to Highclere Castle after we got lost. Every morning is a lovely breakfast included with your stay of fruit, yoghurt, meats& cheese, cereal and hot pastries and toast with tea,coffee, and orange juice. Cannot say enough about the staff of this place and the whole friendly atmosphere here. The manager Luke kindly offered to drive us to train station rather than calling a cab. Lovely place to stay for visiting Highclere Castle but the staff are who really make this place so very special. What lovely memories we will have. Walking distance to Highclere Castle.

The carpenters arms is seriously *******. That's why the tenants don't stay long. I knew a previous landlord. M Lowes his younger children had lengthy conversations with ghosts of previous tents (1800s)

Fantastic one night stay here. Close proximity to highclere castle. Room was lovely and comfortable. Little extras for Valentine’s Day. Nothing was too much trouble. Emma was a fantastic host. Food in the restaurant was beautiful and breakfast from Lewis was the best we’ve ever had (and we run a restaurant!) Would not hesitate to come back. Brilliant job by all. Many thanks. Arrivati a Newbury dopo tre ore trascorse in autostrada, la gentilezza del personale e l’ambiente caloroso ci hanno spinto a cenare qui con hamburger veramente deliziosi, uno sticky toffie pudding fatto veramente bene. La cucina ha accettato di farci cenare benché fosse tardi.

Quaint pub with very friendly staff. Room very nice decor, many extras in room and really comfortable bed. Food is freshly cooked and delicious.

Our room was super cute, though the lack of coverings in bathroom and entry door could be better as they put your privacy at risk. The staff were superb, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, well done to the young chef! Couldn't have picked a better place to stay, we highly recommend this character filled hotel.
