Located next to Winchester Cathedral and close to High street, the hotel is quiet and comfortable.

I have been here for three nights and although the rooms are ok the restaurant is poor. The team struggle to seat you although it is by no means approaching full, they are slow to take your order and then they do not have some of the items on the menu. Although this can be expected in many restaurants at the minute, one of the central items on the menu is a create your own pizza. The fundamental problem they have had with this for the past three nights is they have no pizza bases to create the pizza on. Similarly there are curries on the menu but they don’t have any white rice. Tonight, in my third night of being ignored and trying to catch someone’s eye, I have walked out and had to find somewhere else to eat in a town I have never previously visited. I am meant to be staying here next week and up to 10 work colleagues will be in the town in the next few weeks. I have already advised them to look for somewhere else to stay.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for Paula who works in the restaurant. I went for breakfast with my partner and friends for his birthday 2 may. She was fantastic and made his day. So friendly and attentive and great attitude and fantastic customer service. We have since been back for breakfast twice and all staff are very friendly. The food is also great. We love the wide range of breakfast option. We are very happy with service

We had a clean comfortable room. Good full English and continental breakfast. Staff were polite, friendly, helpful and professional. Location and parking good too. Good value for money. Definitely stay here again when in the area.

It was an excellent stay, the staff were very friendly, the food good value for money in the evening and a great choice of breakfast. The room was excellent with a bath that was great for a soak although a softer bed would have been nice!

Didn't arrive until after 23.00hrs, still met with a welcoming smile. Had checked on booking that late arrival was OK. Had to phone to confirm as it didn't appear on website. Tidy room followed by a very tasty breakfast.

I’ve not visited here for a good few years so decided to give it another shot recently. Plenty of parking, friendly staff on reception. Room was a bit run down but was nice and clean. Food was good in the rant. Only let down was the very poor WiFi and phone reception. Virtually none existent.

Stayed here as we were going on a cruise from Southampton. Staff and cleanliness was fantastic. However as usual the staff was doing the job of 3 people very unfair.the restaurant was extremely poor. Next time I will be Dining at macdonalds thats how bad it was. You cannot run a restaurant with minimal staff and expect the quality to be adequate. This is no reflection on the staff they worked so hard and always had a smile on their face. Shame on you premier inn!!

We stayed two nights about a week apart on our way to and from the Southampton ferry. Both times we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, location and ease of parking. The first time we stayed, we felt the restaurant was a little farce like with a number of meals not quite being right and staff searching for the right table to deliver desserts to etc. However, on our second night stay we were blown away with the restaurant in a very very busy Sat breakfast session. In particular the duty manager Paula was incredibly impressive - clearing and setting tables to get new tables ready asap, reassuring customers and staff, moving at top speed very calmly, and lots of smiles - nothing was too much for her. We would definitely stay here again.
