Cute hotel, great staff!

Check in was easy, but our room was not nice at all. I do not understand how this hotel is marked as five star because it had three star standards. The first room we were placed in was the handicap accessible room, even though we booked the Classic Queen. The rug was torn up and dirty, the bathroom was oddly arranged, the room was extremely small where you can only sit on your bed. There were no drawers to place your clothes, and there seemed to be a fridge at some point but was taken out. I called the front desk if there was supposed to be a fridge and they rudely said "no" and hung up. The pillows were horrible - flat, no support at all. I had to use two or three pillows to support my head and neck at night. We woke up the first morning and the room was so hot. We came to find out our HVAC was not working. We called down and we were able to change rooms. The second room was nicer and surprise surprise there was a fridge! We were under the impression that all the rooms did not have fridges since our first one did not have one. So yes, they put us in a subpar room purposefully because maybe we booked through a third party? Either way, do not stay at this hotel if you're expecting "five star." The only plus was location - close to the Canal St subway station. Will not stay there again, and definitely do not recommend.

it was a great hotel and the room was beautiful during sunset.

Staff was very friendly. However the carpet was stained and the sofa had cigarette burns. Not good when it is advertised as a sleeper sofa. Called to ask for the carpet to be cleaned, it was never cleaned the entire weekend. Very strange as we paid several thousand to stay at the hotel. Not staying here again.

La verdad no me volvería a quedar ahí, la puerta del baño es transparente y la luz entra desde las 6 de la mañana, te cobran 45 usd de amenities y no te dan ni cafetera en el cuarto no tiene mini bar, el shampoo y acondicionador es lo ÚNICO que dan, no dan gorrita de baño, peine, nada en verdad. La cama si esta cómoda pero la verdad no me gusto quedarme ahí

Trip with my daughter who works in the city. Thought she would like the vibe. Loved the online pictures of the hotel. The entrance and the bar/restaurant area lived up to that vibe. The lobby seating is sub par. 2 sad lumpy cream sofas very low to the ground. Checked in on 2nd floor and asked what the $46 per day room rate included. They said wifi, water and on property amenities. I said I wasn’t using any amenities and asked if they could remove charge. No. I asked for any room upgrade. No. I asked for ice in room at night and water. Never got that. Had to ride elevator to ground floor and walk to bar to get ice every night. Water was never left in my room (part of the hotel nightly fee). Had to remember to ask before heading to room each night. No glasses, no coffee maker, no mini fridge in room. I wasn’t expecting large room for my rate, it was small, but ok. Marble shower nice, but the floor is done in large marble tiles vs small pebble tiles which is normal for tile shower floors bc more traction...these large tiles are very slippery! Be careful. The mattress was ok, but not plush. Definitely ask for more pillows..only 2 on queen bed. Hallway/elevator always smelled like marijuanna, entrance has a “signature smell “but it’s not common to room floors.

For the cost of this hotel I’d really expect better attention to the upkeep of the property. Location wise it was convenient and comfortable, however the finishes in the rooms look worn, the shower door isn’t well sealed and the caulk is all moldy because. It feels like a poorly done flip in the bathroom areas. Additionally the public restrooms in the lobby look so beat up. Staff were friendly enough but really the resort fee would be better done away with, it’s nice to see the support of local businesses with the slight discounts offered but I’d be more encourage to spend in the neighboring businesses if I didn’t have to pay $50/night to receive those minor discounts. You can have my wifi and gym access if I’m having to pay $50. Or use it towards upkeep of the actual rooms so it’s actually the luxury feel you advertise.

The door to my room would not lock and I was told three times it would be fixed. I trusted the hotel and left my passport and belongings in my room only to come back twice to find my door could still easily be pushed open. Luckily, nothing was stolen. When they finally fixed the lock, I could no longer enter my room and had to go to the lobby to get a new key card. Annoying. The server in the cafe brought me the wrong drink three times! I asked for a cappuccino. The check never came and so I flagged someone to get it. No pen to sign the check. Had to track down a server to actually pay. Overall, a bad experience. Easy misses that could have made such a difference to my experience.
