藍月亮飯店(The Historic Blue Moon Hotel - NYC)

Al di là del gusto personale di ognuno di noi ci sono alcune condizioni che sono imprescindibili in un soggiorno: pulizia e servizi. In questa struttura, nonostante venga presentata in pompa magna sul proprio sito ed egregiamente recensita su tripadvisor, non abbiamo trovato ne una ne l'altra. Il personale non è stato minimamente all'altezza, abbiamo chiesto 2 cose: se fosse compresa la colazione o se il bar all'ingresso fosse fruibile e non abbiamo avuto risposta perchè il ragazzo alla reception 'non sapeva'. NDR il bar al piano terra non lo abbiamo mai visto operativo durante 3 mattine di soggiorno quindi ci siamo dovuti arrangiare con colazione fuori. La seconda cosa richiesta è stata la possibilità di lasciare le valigie il giorno del check-out, ci è stato risposto che non disponendo di un locale apposito avremmo potuto lasciarle nelle scale di servizio (alla mercè della qualunque). Cosa che per questioni di evidente necessità siamo stati costretti a fare. Abbiamo inoltre richiesto un locale dove poterci cambiare prima del volo e ci hanno direzionato in un WC pubblico interno decisamente sporco. Questione housekeeping (pagata come servizio aggiuntivo obbligatorio 87$): la camera è stata riordinata solo una volta su due richieste. Il tutto arbitrariamente perchè era stato chiaramente richiesto con apposito cartello. Al di là della disastrosa esperienza le immagini che si vedono sul sito di camere da boutique hotel disattendono alacremente le attese, sia in termini di qualità che di pulizia. Lascio le immagini come reale situazione di un hotel il quale, a detta di National Geographic è uno dei migliori hotel dell'emisfero boreale. Probabilmente quell'edizione di National Geographic è stata prima della guerra di indipendenza americana, non vi è altra spiegazione. Senza contare poi la qualità del sonno ridicola, tutti i rumori si sentono nonostante fossimo al piano 4. E grazie anche a qualche ospite molto maleducato che arrivava in camera alle 1 di notte urlando e sbattendo volutamente porte e cassetti. NB. Considerando che ho notato che l'hotel risponde a tutte le critiche mosse con argute risposte decido di mettere le mani avanti rispondendo ad un eventuale replica: 'Più pulizia, più servizio, meno chiacchiere!' Sinceramente consiglio a tutti i miei connazionali che leggeranno questa recensione di andare altrove e spendere meglio i loro soldi!

This is a fantastic hidden gem, right across the street from the Tenement Museum, which is also wonderful. This hotel is truly boutique, with lovely restored rooms with fun themes, and views of the old Lower East Side. Additionally the rooms have cute balconies with tables and chairs. A unique and magical experience!

I was immediately charmed by the hotel and its affable proprietor. The rooms are yute nice (though the bathrooms good be upgraded a bit). But beware the late night staff. I was awakened at 2:30 am by some drunken guests who had forgotten their room code. When I looked outside into the hall I found Clyde, the front desk person, loudly talking with the guests. When I asked what was going on, he told me to go back into my room and not worry about it—no apologies at all. Flabbergasted, I asked why he was treating me so brusquely. ‘Weren’t you the guy complaining about the service fee? I don’t need to hear anything more from you.’ Indeed, Hotel Tonight did not say that there is a service fee in addition to the room cost. I had merely asked them to explain it to me. Now we was using that innocent question to say that I had invalidated my right to a restful night of sleep? Icing on the cake: When I checked in, I had said I lived nearby and had just needed to get out of my apartment for some alone time. As we conversed at 3 am, Clyde thought it good judgment to say to me ‘No wonder you had to leave your apartment’ and then refused to speak to me any further. A potentially lovely stay turned disaster by a failed misunderstanding of the term ‘hospitality.’ The owner(s) should be rightfully appalled.

the manager of the property is very nice guy. Room was over price due to fashion week, but the pace is decent, rooms are big and clean. neighborhood is very active, lot of clubs, bars and restaurants close by. No luxury amenities.

This property is not up to the caliber of a 4-star hotel is grossly overpriced for the quality of accommodation. I also have concerns that a number of the reviews about this hotel are fabricated. The property's common areas are shabby, and not in the "charming" sense they try to claim. As other's have said, the $30 "resort fee" is laughable. There is no gym, no room service, no pool, actually no property amenities at all. The room itself was clean, and large for NYC. However, there's no cable, no phone, and my shower did not have hot water. I've come to expect in-room noise when I travel to NYC, but this was worst than most. Thin enough walls where I could hear conversations of my neighbors, and it seems there's a nightclub within earshot so there was a good bit of bass thumping until the wee hours. The front desk staff is just odd. I think they mean well but they lack a level of professionalism that just makes interacting with them off-putting. For the price of this hotel you can find MUCH nicer properties in the area. I travel to NYC quite often and would never stay again.

Hace mas de 20 años que visito regularmente la ciudad. Me he quedado en casi todas las zonas de Manhattan. He tenido buenas y malas experiencias. Pero este hotell sale del molde, especial, unico, perfecto. La ubicacion es increible, toda la onda junta, enfrente un museo que vale la pena experimentar, a una cuadra tenes el Cafe de Russ and dhoter que es increible y a pocas cuadras de Katz. Cerca de todos los barrios lindos. Mucho arte, soho, tribeca, puente de Broklim, Seeport. Cerca del New Museum tambuen. El hotel es eapecial, profesional pero familiar, todos los que trabajan le ponen amor. Las habitaciones son grandes y tienen cocina, unico en la ciudad jajajaj Y lo mejor de todo es que son gente que se puede hablar. Por ejemplo querian cobrar el guardado de valijas antes de que me entreguen la habitacion y les explique que no me parecia y lo aceptaron. No puedo creer que estuve tanto tiempo sin conocer este hotel. Super relacion calidad precio. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and gave us a tour of the art and the premises. The rooms we saw were immaculate, refined, and the views of the city unmatched. It is impressive what this family-run hotel is doing to revive the history of the American immigrant story in New York City.

We live in NYC and occasionally need a hotel when friends come and stay in our apartment. We have tried many hotels around the Lower East Side/ Tribecca area. This is our favorite! it is such a special place, a real family run hotel, which is so rare. The rooms are huge by comparison to any other place we have stayed. They are super clean and many have balconies. The location is great, and the people who run it are the absolute best. I highly recommend!

From the first moment we entered we were treated like honored guests. Dovid was exceptionally nice and helped us with everything we needed. The room was so comfortable with a small balcony that made our stay special. Thank you so much for everything and we would definitely love to return.
