奧爾良皇家歐姆尼飯店(Omni Royal Orleans Hotel)

The hotel is worn out and Covid seems to have taken a toll without maintenance. The place needs a total refresh. Room and bathroom were not clean, rugs stained and worn out, dark, bathroom grout varied from black to white. Previously stayed there 50 times, but need to change.

As a long time Omni customer, it’s sad to say that I highly recommend NOT staying at this hotel. It is old and outdated, extremely loud, dirty and infested with rodents. In addition, to what I can only refer to in this post as an ‘adult party’ in the room next door and the talented street performers on the hotel’s immediate premises playing violin with an extremely loudspeaker into the early morning hours of 1-2am each night right outside our upgraded room with a balcony, we also had the lovely experience of a Code Amber, as the staff referred to it, when they came to collect a mouse I had captured using the room’s trash can. The on-site manager only offered us an immediate downgrade the night of Code Amber, followed by an additional room move the next day to get back into a comparable room and an insulting $100 room credit. It was obvious he didn’t care, he told me how busy he was with the hotel wedding party that took precedence. Since we successfully caught the mouse and moving twice is a major pain the the rear, we elected for a single room move the following day, and in the new room it was highly visible the uncleanliness was standard with the shower curtain covered in multiple pink colored mold and stains. It’s a shame, as we have always loved the Omni properties in Charlotte, Hilton Head, Grove Park and Amelia Island. This property does not come close to comparing and it’s a shame the staff could not do any better to make things right for a former valuable customer.

Hotel is very run down. Our towel hanger in the shower came clean out of the wall. We’ve stayed there many times and it has clearly not had any upkeep. The wallpaper has come off the walls. The rugs in the rooms are fraying. It’s not good.

The entrance and lobby is inviting. They greet you and are helpful. However, once you get to the room you see the age of the hotel. There is a chair in the room that needs to be tossed out. It is old/worn out and dirty. The curtains are dirty. Our sheets were stained with what appeared to be droplets of blood. The carpet is filthy. We had the house keeper come clean the room and change the bed linen. The price is reasonable, so I guess you get what you pay for. Next time, I will stay away from the French Quarter. The owner’s needs to invest a little into remodeling. On the other hand, everything is in walking distance. No shortage of great food. Stay away from Felix’s oyster bar (bad service and cold food).

My only negative was that I called the Omni Royal Orleans before my booking and asked about parking, namely was it "free of charge". I was told by the representative that it was. At checkout time I was charged $50 a night for parking. That is hardly "free parking". The hotel does allow "in and out" movement without charge, but that is certainly not the same thing as "free parking".

Room was very clean. Staff was excellent. Rooms were small and difficult to add just heat or cool, takes hours to change. Bath fans are desperately needed, the shower heats the entire suite. A luggage rack would have been nice. The “suite” is very small, the only place to open the luggage is the chair, everything else is on the floor and you’ll trip over it. The refrigerator doesn’t cool, it’s one of the old mini bar units. Great location with excellent staff.

Staff at this location are phenomenal. Especially Donna in the touché bar. She is so friendly and accommodating. She’s a one person show, and keeps everything clean and everyone happy. She is one of the main reasons we’ll be coming back to this hotel next time we are in New Orleans.

The man that checked us in was not very friendly. One of the bell hops had a bad attitude. The hotel was clean, in a great area, central to everything. I would stay here again.

Great location and well worth the extra $ for a balcony. Staff was awesome and extremely friendly. The attached restaurant was excellent and was a great dinner. They went out of their way to seat us a hotel guests. They will need to update/fix some outlets and maybe the beds, but regardless we’re staying here again.
