An outstanding evening meal that surpassed the expectations of both of us. The recently renovated restaurant was tastefully decorated and suited the environment. For my starter I chose the Tartare of Belted Galloway with the most amazing Game Chips and Hollandaise sauce flavoured with turmeric. This is the only occasion I have had cause to complement a restaurant on the quality of their game chips! My companion chose the Home Cured Salmon with Salmon Caviar, which was a perfect start for her meal. Following this she had the Torched Cod with Aloo Gobi (curried potatoes) and Fish Skin Crackers with the fish cooked to perfection. My Chicken Fillets were wrapped around Smoked Salmon and Asparagus Spears and this was a fantastic combination. The menu was varied including pub classics designed to satisfy a wide range of tastes. Chris the chef and Tony were welcoming and are obviously keen to encourage customers both local and from farther afield. We wish them every success and we shall definitely be back.

We were given two nights here as a gift, so can’t claim the credit of finding the Kenmuir Arms. The setting is beautiful on the river Luce with gorgeous views. The hotel has been renovated and decorated superbly. The room we stayed in was very comfy with coffee maker, bottles of water. It had a great shower and lovely toiletries. The food was glorious. We ventured for the tasting menu and it was excellent, with Chris explaining each dish. Chris and Tony were fantastic hosts. Off the beaten track but well worth it.

Just had lunch for 4 today - absolutely delicious food. Three had 2 course and one 3 and all had beautiful flavours, were well cooked and lovely presented. Veg and accompanying roasters and mash had great taste - service excellent. Cannot praise experience enough and worth a wee trip to the Kenmuir Arms

We had an outstanding meal here yesterday for New Year’s Eve. The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious, flavourful and beautifully presented. It was a mouthwatering meal, the best I’ve had since visiting Italy in the summer. Complements to the chef who put on such wonderful courses and surprise chocolates at the end of the meal. My dad’s still raving about the blue cheese that was served with the Ecclefechan Tart, he’d love to know where it came from so he could buy a block of it. We absolutely loved eating here. It is a wonderful restaurant and the staff were so warm and welcoming. We come up to Scotland at this time every year and will undoubtedly eat here again in the future.

Kenmuir Arms, New Luce!🥰 Do not go there expecting just food, go there knowing that you will have a dining experience!🥰 Be prepared to have your taste buds and eyes opened by presentation, tastes, flavours and a very satisfied eating expieriance! How do I know? I went with my partner, as we had recieved a gift voucher from family, we shall be back for another mind opener! I assure you it is a dining expieriance that you to will return to!🥰 The hotel sits on the banks of a small scottish river with views from the outside area looking south over the river and is a really wonderful place to sit and contemplate the world and wonder why you need to go farther! Im not going to judge such an all encompassing establishment, I am only going to say go and enjoy!🥰

We went to the Kenmuir Arms for dinner bed and breakfast with friends . We had travelled from Helensburgh 3 hours drive away . We were so pleased with every aspect of this deal . The rooms were beautiful and spacious with an amazing coffee machine and seats where you could sit and look over the river . The food was superb , everything homemade and locally sourced . The evening meal was 5 courses and every course was comparable to some of the best meals we’ve had in London and Paris , very adventurous and very high quality . The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them . The view out of the restaurant was a lovely river with full glass sliding doors which would be perfect in the summer when it’s warm enough to sit outside . We will definitely be returning here .

We had a fantastic 2 night stay. Lovely welcome and quickly shown to our well decorated and appointed room. There was a welcome tea tray which had a variety of teas and coffee and biscuits, and nice toiletries. The food was outstanding and Chris has great ideas. We had the taster menu the first night and a la carte the second night and both were superb and so well presented. There is a good choice for breakfast and again superb. We had a few drinks in the snug and got chatting to some of the locals who recommended some good walks in the area. We enjoyed our break and have booked to return and will definitely do Sunday lunch

Called for lunch. Ordered quiche. Pleasant waitress brought tiny portions of soup(?) which were very oversalted . Said quiche not available. We had been given no chance to order something other than quiche. The "soup" was accompanied by dishes of seasonal vegetables - carrots, swede etc which were not very exciting.

We write very few reviews and I debated writing this one and giving away our great discovery. Brilliant hosts, brilliant food, lovely setting beside river, lovely village, very comfortable room, cosy intimate snug with fire and well decorated throughout. Plenty of good walks in the area and easy, short travelling to visit other attractive towns and villages. We have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants here and abroad and Chris's food could easily compete with them. We had the Gastro Pub food the first night and then tasting menu the second night. Both were excellent. Our visit was so good we have booked again.
