I was charged twice for the stay. I was charged upon checking in, even though the booking was prepaid. Front desk staff was not appropriately trained with normal procedures and resulted in the duplicate charged. I had to make several phone calls to different people to resolve this. This resulted in precious vacation time loss and unnecessary stress.
訪訪客We had originally booked at a hotel next door, but was refused a room because we were considered local. I was booked for a musical performance, and didn't want to risk driving the 40-50 miles back home at that late hour. Arbors at Island Landing saved us from a dangerous drive back home. The room was affordable, and had a sense of luxury. From the towel critter on the bed, to the amazing ascetics of the room, We were very pleased with our experience.
Accommodations were very good; clean room, plenty of towels, great view. Staff was very grumpy and rude when we arrived at 10am to gain access to the pool. However, when we checked in after 12 to our room different person was there and it was much improved. Pool, slide and lazy river were great. Breakfast adequate, nothing really stood out; average. Last year my husband interviewed for a job as a landscaper and he was told he would be working everyday as they have high standards for maintaining the grounds. He turned down the job because of this - not wanting to work 7 days a week! This turned out not to be the case. We did not see one person maintaining the landscaping. Front entrance was messy, bushes need to be trimmed, garbage full and we watched several staff walk by the same piece of paper on the ground several times! Overall, it was a good stay not complaining but you asked for a review.
My husband and I had reservations for 3 nights the Monday after Hurrican Helene hit. After seeing that the roads were still closed, we called the hotel, who graciously moved our reservation to the following week. When that time arrived and the roads were no better (except a route through the mountain Newfound Gap), we called the Comfort again again. After telling Trina the saga of being unable to get there, she was not only comforting but was able to set us up for April, 2025, without loosing our money. This Comfort Inn goes above and beyond helping those who haven't even arrived yet!!! Thanks again Trina!
