Booked a room for myself for a work trip because the website boasted that it had be redone and it was 2 blocks away from where I needed to be. The lobby was nice, they provided water and snacks. The girl who checked me in was very nice and efficient. That's the end of the good.
I was put in room 20 which is in an alcove all by itself. The door does not have a deadbolt, chain, or any way of locking it. Any child could open that door and easily run into traffic. I was uncomfortable because the door could easily be opened by anyone with a key card or a strong kick. The cars in the parking lot on either side of my car were also older, filthy, and full of trash.
The towels hanging had stains and hairs. I pulled all the towels out to see if there were any I was comfortable using and found another hair and 3 more towels with stains. There was also a stain on the bed.
When I went to tell the front desk, she seemed shocked there was an issue and said she would "let her boss know." I had an eerie gut feeling to get out of there, so I did. When I left, there was a guy walking by my car, looking in the windows. They refuse to provide a refund even though I didn't feel safe staying.
