Was just a standard premier inn room. However, there was a strange smell, like damp, when you walked in and the room was very cold. We did put the heating on but it only went up to 19 degrees and didn’t seem to make the room warm at all. Me and my partner only stayed the 1 night.

Clean and tidy room. There is parking on site and hotel is a short walk to town. All staff very friendly and helpful, brilliant welcome. Breakfast buffet was very good. Constantly replenished and nothing too much trouble. Would stay again.

Our stay was one of necessity to be in the area so my expectations weren’t very high but I was so pleasantly surprised by our stay. The staff were wonderful which is always helpful when travelling with children. Situated right by the motorway I expected to hear some noise but we were only staying for one night so was happy to suck it up. The hotel was quiet, peaceful and no outside noise in the rooms. Everyone had a peaceful sleep. The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Would happily return again on our next visit to Monmouth.

A lovely stay. Great location, easy to find and parking on your doorstep. Comfy and clean room, so quiet and a great night’s sleep. Helpful and friendly staff. Will stay again when next in the area. Good breakfast. And excellent value for money. Thankyou!

My partner travelled down from Manchester and I met him and we stayed at Monmouth Premier Inn. Room was spacious, bathroom was great size and included a bath and shower. The bed was really comfy (haven’t stayed at a premier inn before and have always seen that the beds are what make the stay and it was great). TV was fab as we brought our laptop to plug in to watch films, they had the adapter ports in the wall ready and easily accessible (so was able to watch some Harry Potter films in bed). Staff was lovely and welcoming. Lots of parking. We didn’t have food included in our stay as we was out seeing family and friends however every time we left in the morning to go out we could smell the breakfast and it was great, we will definitely be adding breakfast to our stay next time. The free Wi-Fi wasn’t great, it couldn’t even load google on my phone. There was the option to pay for the premium Wi-Fi which I’d assume would work better, but we just used our 4G on our phones and laptop and that worked fine as signal was great, so wasn’t a deal breaker for us (would have been if it was an area where the wasn’t good signal and we did have the option to pay for premium Wi-Fi so)

Clean beautiful as always A lovely gentleman was working last night. Sorry, i forgot your name explained we had a very emotional day as it was 2 years since we lost my dad in law the care and compassion and understanding was amazing He was a true gem and a shinning example to the profession of hospitality and premieer inn should very proud of this staff member

Smell of sewage/stagnant water permeates the hotel - especially ground floor. Lift from second floor works only intermittently and TV didn't work. Was OK, clean with a comfy bed, but not remarkable. Location is good, town centre only a few minutes walk away and hotel is very quiet.

Room was not to liking (built into the eaves). Asked to be moved to another room but not accepted. Apart from that found the staff to be poor, on booking in asked girl what number room we were in and she replied that the number was on the card (obviously too much trouble to tell us verbally). Therefore didn't eat there, only 5 minutes walk to town for eateries who appreciated our custom. Wouldn't recommend or return.

Very friendly welcome, checked in quickly and efficiently. Room comfortable, bed huge and comfy. Only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is the fact you can’t open the bedroom window, I can’t sleep without air in the room and the fact the window was not able to open was not good, also if there was a fire in the hall outside your room door where do you go? Breakfast good but could be hot instead of Luke warm but all in all very nice. All staff friendly and facilities clean. Would visit again if in the area.

We visited Monmouth for an evening concert and needed an overnight stay. The Premier Inn was convenient, had parking and restaurant where we could get an early supper. The room was clean and quiet and we slept very well. Our evening meal was cooked to order, was fresh and tasty. We also took advantage of the meal deal and included a cooked breakfast the following morning, this too was cooked to order, I asked for scrambled eggs and I watched them being cooked for me. The staff were friendly and helpful at all points, from the reception to the restaurant, and made us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our original reservation here for a stay in April this year had to be rearranged, at short notice, due to a domestic emergency. So, some six months later, we finally visited Monmouth and thus fulfilled our booking here. We parked-up here in the early afternoon before returning to check-in at 17:20. Checking-in was efficient and we were soon in our room (217) on the second-floor. The room was clean and tidy, but my bedside light didn’t work. I investigated and discovered that the low-energy lamp was broken, showing signs that it had burned-out. The TV would not switch-on; but whether this was a problem with the remote or the TV itself could not be determined. So, I returned to reception, waited until other guests in the queue were dealt with, and then reported the issues. I showed a photo of the defective lamp. The evening/night manager immediately set-about finding a replacement room for us. After thoroughly checking, key-cards were produced for room 123; a first-floor superior room (the difference appeared to be limited to a larger bed). I viewed the new room with the evening/night manager, checking lights and the TV. Finding no issues, we moved ourselves to this room. At this point I thought that such issues found in room 217 should have been discovered during room servicing; but “these things happen” and basically we shrugged-off the slight inconvenience. It did cost us about 25 minutes of our valuable time. We would have otherwise spent that time relaxing in readiness for our evening meal at a local Italian Restaurante. Later we readied ourselves using the room’s very adequate hot in-bath shower. The step-over-the-side of the bath was substantial and there were no grab handles fitted anywhere. Stepping in and out of the wet bath was a serious concern, but fortunately there were no mishaps. We retuned later in the evening and, after watching about an hour of TV, we turned-in for a much-needed sleep. All went well for about 5 hours, when at about 04:15 I awoke, and immediately became aware of a continuous faint noise that was amplified in this otherwise quiet room. Upon investigation this rhythmic wheezing noise was emitting from the air-conditioning (a/c) vent above the room entrance. The a/c was turned off at the controls and we both tried changing the settings to stop the noise. The only setting that worked was to drown-out the noise by switching-on the fan, but that created a much louder noise. I am a very light sleeper and any noise will keep me awake. So, I lay-awake for the next hour, before I placed my head between two pillows and was able to return to sleep. I would guess that the noise was a defective bearing, buried deep somewhere within the central a/c equipment and the noise was echoing around the a/c ducting. This was not at all good and certainly in variance with the Premier Inn “Good Night Guarantee” slogan. The sleep quality was very poor. We reported the facts to the staff in the morning, but despi

Great location - easy walk to town centre. Lots of nice places to eat - I rate la Piccola - the Italian. Really quiet room. Probably the quietest hotel I’ve stayed in even though it was half term. Very friendly staff. Great price. Clean and tidy. Consistent and great value.

Stayed for three nights during October half term. There's plenty of free parking and the hotel is well located a short walk from the main sights of Monmouth. Our family room was a decent size although the bathroom could do with a refurb. We ate at the on site restaurant for dinner for two of the nights, first night there were some issues (had run out of a lot of food, one very apologetic staff member run off his feet so took a while to receive drinks as well as food), second time was better.
