This was not my favorite stay. On the one hand, I had no cold water (only hot lava in the shower and sink faucet), no bathtub (which I asked for), and they gave my room to another person several hours after I had checked in. As a solo female traveler, finding a strange guy trying to get into my room is really about the opposite of what I’m hoping to have happen in a hotel.
The power outage, while out of the hotel’s control, was sort of a cherry on top. Being without AC or a breeze (or a top sheet!?) on a hot night isnt just a bummer because I can’t sleep, but the power outage also means I can’t charge my portable phone charger or do laundry, the two main reasons I booked a hotel.
The hotel staff were mostly nice folks but for $0 I could have slept better in my car and gotten a breeze by rolling down the windows. I essentially paid $160 to not be able to do the things I needed to do and to have to deal with a surprise strange guy late at night.
