I booked this motel based on the info on the ******* site that said it had been totally renovated in 2021. That was definitely NOT the case. Not sure why all the glowing reviews? I will state that the customer service was very good...check in, check out, personable staff/owner, etc. However, our room was in a desperate state of disrepair. I understand the concept of historic and vintage but that doesn't have to mean run down.
The carpet was taped to the floor at the entry door. There was a hole in the carpet in front of the TV stand. The paint in the bathroom was cracked and bubbling; ready to peel at any moment. There was a loose tile on the bathroom floor. There was mold starting to form on the bathroom wall near the ceiling (the vent fan obviously wasn't working efficiently). The toilet barely flushed. The AC unit was extremely noisy. And, the entire room was in dire need of a deep cleaning (dusting, carpets, baseboards, walls, lights, etc.).
While the location was good (as quiet as Moab can be), at $170/night, I will look elsewhere for lodging the next time I'm in town.
