Nice place in downtown! Perfect

We were in Miami for emergency eye care at a nearby hospital. This hotel was nearby. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. They went beyond expected to make us comfortable. They are to be commended. Hotel was comfortable and clean. It did seem a little worn and could use some new paint and furniture. My concern was that prices were not marked on items for sale in the lobby . We did not know prices until they appeared on our bill and they were pricey. Also parking was $28/ day which could get pretty costly if you are involved with hospital stays.

I would not recommend this hotel! Weird part of town, the homes all around it have bars on the windows. We checked in late with tired kids in tow and had terrible front desk service. The desk clerk was eating gummy worms and flirting with someone and wouldn’t check my family and I in. After waiting for ages I found out the person sitting nearby was also a hotel worker who could have checked us in but never got up until we’d been waiting more than 20 min. The room was not very nice, felt sort of dirty and old and the other guests were sort of loud. Just not a nice place. Look elsewhere. Bathroom door didn’t even close!

Room was very noisy. Flights coming over, tour bus running generator parked outside, sounds of trucks with backup beeping very loud-- could hear clearly, was on 2nd Fl. AC was set to 61 on arrival. So cold had to put on heat mode to 78. 130am went to desk to change room as could not sleep due to noises. Agent was not as friendly as at checkin. Asked to be on quieter side. Only had 6th Fl and assessible room, which was on the front side. Packed up, moved there. Much quieter. AC would not adjust. Went to desk. In that room another control on wall by door had to be used to turn off or adjust a/c. At breakfast heard people talking about very cold rooms set at 61 and could not turn off at unit. Why is there not signage in the rooms? Very little sleep but breakfast was very good, rooms large and clean. Parking $23 extra a surprise.

The hotel was convenient to everywhere we needed to go during our trip. But the rooms were disgusting! It was a big brown stain in the floor, the covers hadn’t been cleaned good, the showers weren’t cleaned properly. My friends kept sneezing every time we went to the hotel and we figured it was because the room possibly was molded. The outside of the hotel wasn’t attractive and it was ran down houses right across from it. Basically I couldn’t wait to get out that nasty hotel.

Overall, staying here was very nice. The addition of a shuttle service to the airport is something I feel every hotel should offer to guests and that would have improved the rating for me. The restaurant had passable food but not exceptional. Staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful.

Convenient location near U of Miami Hospital. Room is comfortable. Bed is great. Good amenities. If I’m visiting U of Miami hospital, I will definitely stay here again
