The location is good, very close to the National Park and visitor centre. It has a restaurant and coffee shop and a shuttle buses. The hotel is very aged, needs a full upgrade. The fan is very old and noisy. When the next door room using shower/toliet you can hear clearly. All the towels/sheets should be for many years without change, small,hard and in dirty colour. The back door has no lock, using a wooden stick instead. The cleaners and front desk are untrained, they gave us a wrong instruction to our tour and ended up we missed it. When we asked for a room service to a cleaner, 2 managers came in and asked why we needed a room service(we only need to have a new towels and get rubbish removed). We were charged $44 for a luggage transfer fees when we check out( we’re not told when we checked in).Compared with other hotels at this area, the price is much higher. Princess lodge cross road is a much better choice but it was full when we booked it

This place is a tourist machine. We arrived late and our front desk clerks were inundated with other requests and did the bare amount of getting us checked-in. No orientation, no small chat (which is fine), no making sure we knew what amenities were available or where to get food. Just here's your key and you are at the building on the entire other end of the property... [good luck]. We asked for a late check-out as the standard check-out is an audacious 10AM. I am sure the reason being it is challenging to clean so many units in hard to reach locations but still. It wasn't a difficult request but they have a policy to not honor such requests. Fine. I only needed late checkout as I had a business meeting at 10am and would have been nice to do the zoom on WiFi (3Mbps btw). So we woke up early to be sure to get done with breakfast and be out of the room before my meeting. We were bags in hand walking toward the door at 9am sharp when some male housekeepers knocked on the door "just checking" to be sure we knew that there was no late check-out. Almost as if for asking for a late check-out I had raised a red flag that meant I needed some extra assistance in leaving on time. The buffet at the Grande lodge was great for the view but was a pretty average buffet with oddly fluffy eggs, sausage patties and belgian waffles. They did have Lox and cream cheese with bagels which was amazing. $29.99 per person.

Air conditioning was broken. Room was full of filthy cigarette smoke. Hotel didn’t care enough as they were sold out. ******* was not able to help resolve the issue. My biggest mistake was to book the hotel prepaid. Couldn’t even do anything through my credit card company to protect myself as it was late. Denali Wilderness Lodge is your better bet.

OMG do not stay here. I knew I was in trouble when checking in and the receptionist says housekeeping is upon request otherwise you get none. What? We got NO sleep hearing every semi, loud cars, motorcycles and occasional like it was in the room with us. And then paper-thin walls and floors hearing every step upstairs. Transporting luggage on gravel and uneven paths did not help. Balcony was useless with a view of birch trees obstructing everything. They say microwave but is none. Then to top it off there was no hot water on the last day. Staff seemed very disinterested in helping with that. I can't believe Expedia/AARP endorses this place.

Bad experience. No parking pass was needed, anyone can park the car in their hotel. Our rental was got scratched by their staff car, but they didn’t even try to help. No hot water for shower, we contacted the front desk around 10pm and she told that she will try to see what she can do, we wait hours and no one showed up. We booked the hotel for the view, but don’t put your hope to high, the front desk told us basically because we don’t pay enough, I booked months ago and I checked their availability that day, they have and with much less rate, later I learned that I paid more than regular rate $50-$100 per night. The other nothing is that food from their restaurant is a disaster, we ordered the chicken wings and taco platters to go, but it’s so bad we have to threw everything.

Great location and outlook. The room we had was very disappointing. No hot water for a shower over 3 nights. Day 1 cold shower, no toiletries, room phone not working and leaky basin waste. On second night we were offered to have a hot shower in another makeshift room & a complimentary breakfast. This was several buildings from our room and occurred at 930 pm. Shower wax Nice and hot ! Basin leak fixed still no room toiletries. No housekeeping in our room for 3 nights. Day 3 Staff said problem fixed and then we had hot for 1 shower and then cold. Day 4 Cold shower again, no room phone. No housekeeping. Very disappointing with Hotel as we paid a lot of money for the room and no offer of relocation to another room. Several other guests had the same problem. The hotel was not full and they have a lot of rooms. It would be appreciated if Management offered compensation for not supplying what we paid for. Restaurant great but Hotel disappointing.

Actually checked out after one day due to the sewer smell right outside our room. In addition, the room was so noisy from the walkway to parking lot and room above us.

STAY AWAY!! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND LOTS OF EXCUSES!!!! NEEDS A MAJOR OVERHAUL! NO WATER THEN NO HOT WATER, NO CABLE, NO TELEPHONE! TOTALY RUN DOWN AND LACK OF MANAGEMENT. NO COMPENSATION OFFERED FOR A TERRIBLE STAY!
