The Grand Mountain Hotel, Sri Lanka We stayed at The Grand Mountain Hotel during a business trip with Blåkläder. While the hotel appears grand and spacious at first glance, it quickly became evident that it struggles with maintenance and service—especially when hosting a large group like ours (over 80 people). Rooms & Cleanliness: The rooms were spacious but poorly maintained, showing signs of wear and neglect. My room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, which was disappointing. Facilities & Cleanliness: The hotel itself is large and has potential, but it is clear that maintenance has been overlooked. Dirty glasses and cutlery were a recurring issue in the restaurant, which does not reflect well on the overall hygiene standards. Service & Hospitality: It did not seem like the hotel had experience handling such a large group. One of the biggest letdowns was the lack of alcohol. With a large corporate group visiting from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland, it should have been expected that a well-stocked bar would be essential, yet they were severely understocked. Overall, The Grand Mountain Hotel has potential, but the lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and preparedness for large groups made the stay less enjoyable. Would not recommend for corporate events unless significant improvements are made.
