勞倫斯飯店(Lawrences Hotel)

유서깊은 호텔이라 하여 방문해 보았는데, 클래식하고 모든 부분에서 만족스러웠습니다. 조식을 비롯하여 저녁과 추천 와인은 물론, 리셉션의 매니저도 전문적이고 모두가 품격있어서 정말 좋은 경험이었습니다.

Terrible terrible. NO PARKING ANYWHERE. Hotel advertises parking - but non-existent! Drove around for 4 hours looking for parking. Hotel only has 2 spaces (taken). Offered us parking is dilapidated barn - narrow door and not secure - too dangerous for entry of rental car. Had to leave and stayed up the coast at Immerso in Ericierra (great experience). Warning - do not stay here! You will not be happy!

PROS: Good location, very close to sights CONS: One very pushy receptionist that tries to corner you into overpriced tours and ground transportation; Old fashioned decor (it is the oldest hotel in the Iberian Peninsula and it shows!)

The location was convenient to the downtown historic area and shopping, as well as to trails leading to the Moorish castle and the Palace of Pena. The staff was polite and helpful and the building itself has an interesting historic and literary past. We had an excellent meal at the on site restaurant. Parking is a challenge though, and our room had a distracting odor problem.

Overall it was a joy to stay in this beautiful old hotel. The public areas of the hotel are lovely and there are various attractive corners to relax in. The staff were all lovely and very attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were absolutely excellent. We booked a superior room, but unfortunately the bathroom in particular was run-down and in need of refurbishment. For example, there was a large crack in the basin and black marks in the bath. We had a balcony terrace overlooking the garden and this was a lovely space, but there were only upright chairs and no table - although there was plenty of room for a table, and even sun loungers. The bedroom itself was nicely decorated, but small and quite dark. The mattresses on the beds were very bouncy so not so comfortable. It was a very expensive stay and we expected more for the price. The food in the restaurant was excellent, although again extremely expensive, even for Sintra.

Maravilha de hotel. Para nossa surpresa, concederam-nos um upgrade e ficamos hospedados na suíte Lord Byron, em que o poeta romântico ficou, o que nos deixou muito honrados e emocionados. Vista linda, com muito verde e também para a cidade. O pessoal é muito atencioso e o restaurante oferece uma comida deliciosa, com uma excelente carta de vinhos, com destaque para o sommelier, o Sr. Carlos. No café da manhã ou pequeno almoço, destaque para a simpática e eficiente Vera. O hotel também é muito bem localizado, no centro histórico de Sintra. Enfim, recomendo muito.
