威爾希爾金普頓飯店(Kimpton Hotel Wilshire)

Short trip in LA for visa applications. The hotel location is great, close to the VFS Global. Though in Trip.com website says the breakfast is not included, but the reception information BF is included which is a surprise.

- turn out no bath tub included (which is stated in the booking selection) - unclear instructions or information provided by staff, need to ask everything - good location, walkable distance to few good restaurants - free daily lyft ride is super helper to those who are not driving in town - good neighborhood (safe and quiet, but not too quiet, with traffic) - room is clean and bright

Decent location

Things were stolen from our room and things taken out of the mini bar while we were out for the day. The hotel charged us the mini bar consumption and didn’t seem too phased by the fact that our stuff went missing. Assured us that housekeeping was well trained.

Checkin was a bit of a hiccup but once the manager reviewed the details things smoothed out. We inadvertently left an orchid gift at the front desk during checkin and it mysteriously disappeared. Valet parking had a long line. Beyond that the hotel was clean, the roof top restaurant was the perfect place for a birthday brunch with amazing service. *that was the highlight of the stay.

Hotel staff was kind and accommodating. Property was very clean and modern. Think Europe/New York; rooms are not massive. Smaller in size but the modern look helps. Same with elevator. Very European in size. Think quiet and cozy Enjoyed the rooftop (great views) and the location of the hotel which is a close drive to Beverly Hills and West LA. Definitely would return.

Perfect place to stay if you've got a meeting at the Museum of Motion Pictures. Easy safe walk, but the Kimpton did provide me with an Uber. Nice touch.

Checked in late. Valet wasn't friendly or helpful. Check in was easy, room was extremely small. Balcony was shared with 2 other rooms and had a large concrete wall for a view in the "sunset" suite. Was awoke by large shaking noises adjacent to room around 6:30 a.m. No explanation from hotel staff other then maybe it was a dream or a large truck. Very sarcastic employee that had no desire to help a guest. At check out we went to valet and were yelled to stay behind barriers. There is no signage explaining this. All in all the hotel is way overpriced with unhappy employees and small rooms.

I have stayed at Kimpton's before and have always left impressed with the customer service and overall experience. However, this time was a very different experience, the staff at the Kimpton Wilshire was not friendly and did not seem interested in ensuring we had a pleasant experience. There was a delay getting our party into our room that went past the check-in time and they ended up putting us into a room that was a downgrade from the reservation we had made without giving an explanation. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
