This Hotel is Owned by a smaller Hotel Group and happens to be across from where we live. We go there often to eat and my wife interacts with the team on the beach during Turtle Patrol Season. They are concious of their environment, and DO try to do what they can in that regard. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable. With this beign said, we booked a stay for friends, and pre paid so there would be zero awkwardness at check in for our visitors. The room was charged a week in advance, hit our credit card, as planned. When our friends got to the front to check in, the front desk asked for the card again. NOT for extras, not for incidentals, but for the card again. Good thing we happened to be home, and ran across the street to resolve. The hotel was not cheap, and our friends felt as if they had to pay. It was frustrating for us to say the least. They THEN asked again for another card for incidentals. We repeated to keep everything on the card they had already charged. Odd. And the next morning when our friends went to breakfast they were told they HAD to order the buffet, that there was no ordering from the menu. She was told this while she watched plates of food being carried out of the kitchen to tables. They only needed a bagel, and were being told to purchase a buffet. She eventually got them to charge for a bagel. VERY dissappointing, esp. for the price of the hotel. Much higher level of service is expected. We really want to have this as our go-to recommendation!
