「Great place to spend the night in the mountains! The hotel itself is pretty basic but the shower was hot and the breakfast plentiful - what more do you need really?? The surrounding area is absolutely stunning too. Fantastic value for money all round!」

「A stunning location and a very comfortable, clean hotel with amazing views from the bedroom and restaurant. Walking opportunities are limited due to the steepness of the terrain but there’s a great path down to Curral do Freitas (45-60 minutes). Service was very good but the vegetarian food was not up to the standards that we expected. Good selection at breakfast but the hot breakfast is not kept warm. Nice jacuzzi and nice, small indoor pool.Certainly worth a visit but could be even better with better food as it’s a long way to the nearest restaurant. €3.35 bus from Funchal (No. 81) but check timetables carefully」
