We did our research before choosing The Ivens Hotel for our 18th anniversary trip. The one star is for the bellmen, concierge and front desk staff whom were all kind and polite and inviting. Long story short, we were treated horribly in the bar, in the restaurant and by the hotel manager Mariana (who would not even address my concerns via email because apparently she’s too important). The bar staff will not let their guests sit at the bar (they send you to the back of the bus/bar) unless you are dining. Nevermind that the bar is completely empty in the middle of the day on a Monday. Nevermind that you’ve been travelling 12 hours and just want cocktails and wine while you are killing some time time to check in. They actually asked us to move to the back when there was wasn’t another soul in the bar. Then they did it again in the evening with a half filled bar at 11:30 PM. There is so much more to it. At breakfast, a manager/waiter was short with me. Again, half filled and I asked not to be seated on top of people and he snapped at me that it was “breakfast rush”. Just read my ignored email below for more specific details and don’t stay at The Ivens. It was a HUGE disappointment. Good afternoon Mariana, I would like to give you some feedback on our stay at The Ivens and let you know the reason we cancelled our return stay on our last 2 nights with you from July 11-13. I would like to start with the positives. Your bellmen, concierge and front desk staff were all welcoming, polite and friendly. Upon arrival to our room, we were pleased with the cleanliness and ambiance of the room. Now for the incidences that played a role in our cancellation. We arrived at your hotel at 10AM after traveling for 12 hours and our room was not ready. Of course we were fine with that and we were prepared as we know that check in was at 3 PM. We took a walk and then decided to just relax and have drinks at your beautiful bar. It was 1 PM when we arrived. The bar was completely empty. There was not a single soul aside from us. A gentlemen approached us and asked us if we would be dining. We explained we would just be having cocktails and wine to kill some time until we received a call that our room was ready. He then asked us if we could move away from the bar to the tables behind to allow for the diners to have the bar chairs. My husband explained that I had my 3rd back surgery 3 weeks ago, and the bar chairs would provide more comfort for me along with the fact that we enjoy sitting at the bar and chatting with bartenders. He reluctantly allowed us to, but then informed us that we would need to move when the “diners” arrived. We were extremely put off but we agreed to move when asked. We stayed at the bar until 2:40 and only 2 other people were there by the time we left. We went and had a lovely dinner and decided that we wanted to enjoy your beautiful bar for a nightcap. This was at 11:30PM. We were informed by the gentlemen at the door that the kitchen was close

Fantastisch mooi ontworpen hotel met een geweldig gevoel voor stijl. Ontzettend klantvriendelijk personeel en de kleine dingen (een ander boek bij de lift na de schoonmaak of de Aqua di Parma douchespullen) maken het verschil wanneer het gaat om aandacht voor je gasten en kwaliteit.

Hotel incroyable ! Nous y avons passé 4 merveilleuses nuits en Janvier et le séjour était fantastique. Le personnel est aux petits soins, tous très attentionnés et professionnels. L'hotel est très récent donc en excellent état. La chambre est superbe, limuneuse, très propre et confortable. Le lit est merveilleux, et les chambres sont bien insonorisées. La localisation est parfaite aussi, on peut tout faire à pieds et les meilleurs restaurants sont tous à proximité. Aussi, le petit déjeuner est d'une très grande qualité, tout y est très bon. Le restaurant de l'hotel est magnifique, et très demandé! Nous séjournions là bas pour une occasion spéciale et le personnel a été plein d'attentions particulières, nous étions très touchés. Les chambres sont très modernes, bien équipées et confortables. Le service Housekeeping est très attentif également. Vraiment un grand merci pour ce fabuleux séjour ! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir et ne pouvons que recommander ce merveilleux établissement.

Excellent hotel, operated by skilled team. From the time you set foot in the hotel till the time you leave, guests are treated with exceptional hospitality. The housekeeping, concierge, and FO services are all exemplary. I would return. This is among Marriott’s properties that gives it its name in the hospitality domain.

Отличное расположение, приветливый персонал. Номер очень уютный и комфортный. Если вернусь в город, сто процентов остановлюсь снова. Завтраки проходят в ресторане rocco. На тебя одного человека три официанта, поразительно. И яйца тебе почистят, и хлеб в тостер за тебя засунут)))) Сам завтрак небольшой, очень мало опций на буфете, прям совсем. Так де готовят по меню. Я просила кашу с ягодами (за ягоды доплата 10 евро)), очень странно, конечно, для такого отеля. Были не очень свежие, кстати.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the hotel. The decor was captivating, creating a delightful atmosphere that complemented the perfect location. The staff went above and beyond, displaying exceptional helpfulness and politeness, making my stay truly memorable.
