霍爾斯特宮殿飯店(Horsted Place Hotel)

Booked Horsted Place through secret escapes for my wife's surprise 40th and wasn't disappointed. We were upgraded to a superior suite (Warwick) which was huge! The room was comfortable with plenty of amenities. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which was exceptional. Delicious food, good portions and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly consider it for a night away in future. Thank you.

Our Chris**as break at Horsted Place was a wonderful experience! What an amazing location to have spent the festive period. Everything looked its very best and proceeded calmly and seamlessly throughout thanks to the meticulous preparations made and service provided by Manager Adam and his wonderful team, especially Bruno, Elleesha, Aimie, Ivana, Erin, Charlie, Harvey and Emily. The food was exceptional and the champagne receptions generous. Especially enjoyable were the perennial Ashdown Choir's carol concert and the challenging quiz hosted by pianist Chris Bewley. With the rain beating down and the wind howling outside and the log fires burning inside, it is difficult to imagine a more comfortable, genteel and convivial place to have spent our Chris**as. Congratulations to everyone involved and a very Happy New Year to all.

Most things about this hotel were excellent, especially the food and service. One complaint is the cost of the wine. The cheapest white was £30, whereas the cheapest red was £38. To pay £38 for what was a very average red was very disappointing.

We stayed here for one night as a belated birthday treat and had dinner and breakfast. The building is stunning, historic and Grade II listed, which meant it hasn't been spoilt in the way many older hotels have. The communal areas inside look like they have been redecorated fairly recently and done very tastefully in a way that preserves the historic feel but still feels light and elegant. We stayed in the Tower suite which was very spacious and traditionally decorated with lovely views from the windows. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a kettle in the room with all the supplies you would need to make various hot drinks - normal teas, herbal teas, coffee (both caffeinated and decaff) and hot chocolate. Plus a generous assor**ent of biscuits. We had pre-dinner drinks in the warm and inviting Lounge and had dinner in the dining room. I must say dinner was superb! Being vegetarian I often find I am rather short-changed whilst eating out, but the starter of Portabello mushroom, poached egg, truffle and brioche was a delight, as was my main, a vegetable wellington (with a moist filling and not too much pastry) with roasted vegetables. Breakfast was also lovely with a great selection of options. Staff were very attentive and helpful throughout. We were definitely very impressed and will be visiting again.

Fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel with a royal connection. We stayed in Myers which was lovely and it looked like it had been newly refurbished. Dinner was outstanding and so was breakfast. Breakfast is cooked to order and lots of choice. All of the staff were professional, helpful and made every effort to ensure we had a pleasant stay. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Staff were not welcoming or friendly throughout the afternoon tea experience. Sandwiches were dry and the egg mayo was served in a mini brioche, the two did not work together. Scones were delicious and an amazing lemon curd. Good selection of teas and coffees. Would not return due to staff and the high cost of an average afternoon tea.

Lovely hotel, staff are excellent, fantastic service. Breakfast was first class and waitress was very attentive. Beds were very comfortable, lovely espa toiletries and good shower. Bar staff were very good and having a drink over looking the grounds was very relaxing.

Thanks to everyone at Horsted Place for another very enjoyable two night stay over Easter. Bruno and his team in the new restaurant were super efficient in serving excellent food throughout. Elleesha's front of house team were welcoming, personable and attentive as always. We enjoyed the experience of eating in the newly decorated, light and airy former lounge: we appreciated the views over the garden and the improvement upon the old Parva restaurant, which has become the lounge; also tastefully re-decorated in identical manner. Our fears about how the changes would alter the character of Horsted Place have proved to be unfounded. We understand (reference other comments) that this is 'work in progress' and that the old, well worn lounge furniture is already being sent away piece by piece for re-upholstering. We greatly look forward to seeing the final results at a future stay.

Don't eat at Horsted place if you have an allergy, we gave them due notice that 1 of us was dairy free and no fat diet, the only main course was fish but they could not serve it with any vegetables or potato course that was in accordance with my allergy, on top of that all they could offer was stewed apple for a desert, this is disgraceful for a restaurant of this standard. On top of that there is nowhere to have a pre-lunch drink, or coffee as the drawing room has been changed and is now residents only, we did NOT leave a service charge and we will not eat there again.
