We had a 10 day stay, we checked in but room was not ready since it wasn't 3pm. The young lady at the door told us that they had another resort and if we would like to see it to kill time and there we can eat lunch, so we decided to go. When we get there we are greeted by another person they ask for our information, how much money we make come to find out it was like trying to convince us to buy similar to a timeshare. It was supposed to be 90 minutes came out to be 120 minutes because they kept bringing other people to try to convince us. The first lady was a sweet heart she was just doing her job. We kept saying we where not interested and they kept on trying to convinced us first to pay $50,000 within a 40 year time plus $1999 to maintenance your points then they kept trying to drop the price, we wanted to leave but they said we had to sign some paper to say we refuse the deal or something. But kept bringing other people and trying to make a deal. They finally gave us a paper to sign and gave us some kinda food voucher for our time we didn't take it we just wanted to go to our resort. Now we are tired from our long flight and wasted time with this time share thing. We finally go to our room and it's nothing like the picture. The room looked like a cheap motel room. The room was dirty, there was no lock to the sliding door, so anyone from other rooms can just come in. The sliding glass door was brooking, there was a puddle of water outside the suppose views of the beach. We didn't stayed we checked out and got another place to stay. Worst place ever. Not sure how was that the Junior suite. The front desk girls where very nice at check in. And the bell boy also. But not worth spending your money. They need to be more cautious especially if a person is staying long stay you want the person to feel comfortable not give them a crappy room. You have a dime kinda view of the beach but it seems you re right on the next customers room the balcony is so close you can literally climb to the other balcony.
AAlistairB554I came to this Hotel thinking that it might've been a little more upscale. It's an Older no frills Hotel that I very much grew to like along with The City of Veracruz they both to ne have a rustic charm about them.I think I was originally shown Room 102 which was a small room with I think a King Size Bed,Small Bathroom with a Shower + an Electronic Safe for valuables. However a Lady from The Front Desk was unable to fix my Electric Key Room Card no matter how many times she tried to fix it with some kind of Electronic Gizmo I think it was maybe a Code Reader so I was moved to Room 207 on The Next Floor up.The Staff at Howard Johnson there The Front Desk & Restaurant were friendly & happy to help if require any information price of a Local Bus,Ice for a Cooler etc. I can't comment about didn't eat at The restaurant as I ate my Meals off The Resort but it's there for an additional surcharge if you want Breakfast,Dinner etc they also have a Karaoke Night down in The Restaurant one or two days during The Week.I believe the General Manager was Angel who I'm glad was there because my own Espanol is pretty basic & limited so that Lady was a valuable help if I didn't have my phone with English to Spanish Translation App in me.The thing that I really like about the Hotel was the good Central Location I think it was in Boca Del Rio & the cool place to chill in The late Afternoon & Evening the Sixth Floor Roof where the Small Swimming Pool is located & the Amazing 360 Eagle Views & photos you can take of The Entire City & Seaport Bay ..truly priceless.I'd say to anyone staying at this City who wants a Cheaper Good Hotel that is in a decent Location then maybe give this a try I don't think you would be disappointed.Who knows if I ever do revisit Veracruz I would sure consider this Hotel as a Solid Choice to stay I enjoyed my 8 Day stay from Friday October 28-November 5 2022.. Hola everyone at Howard Johnson Veracruz from Vancouver BC thanks Alistair!
