馬吉利斯度假村(The Majlis Resort)

Cosa mi rimarrà di più del Majlis ? Il meraviglioso palmeto che abbiamo attraversato per raggiungere la reception ? L' architettura arabeggiante che mi ha ricordato immediatamente l'Alhambra ? L'arredamento stupendo e mai ridondante ? La discrezione ? Il respiro dei grandi spazi ovunque ? Il cibo squisito ? La meraviglia delle innumerevoli piante ?La gentilezza della famiglia Moccia ? La professionalità del personale ? Non so cosa mi rimarrà di più, ma tutto questo mi ha regalato quella pace assoluta che si prova nel contemplare la bellezza di un luogo, dove la cura del dettaglio e l'attenzione fanno la differenza. Grazie🙏

Mi chiedo cosa ci sia, di piu utile ed efficace per il "sistema Italia" , di un Hotel di lusso gestito cosi bene, con cosi tanta classe cme il Majlis di Lamu. Sono gli imprenditori come Stefano Moccia ed i managers come Enrico i veri ambasciatori del Made in Italy nel mondo. Altro che i burocrati delle Ambasciate! Un hotel di Lusso in un'ambiente incontaminato e mozzafiato, che merita pienamente i cinque stelle della sua categoria. Raffinato senza essere stucchevole, elegante senza essere pretenzioso, esprime con classe i migliori sentimenti di un'ospitalità seria e confortevole, completa ed esaustiva di ogni desiderio di relax . Ricevimento gradevole fin dall'aeroporto, con la barca vi portano in sette minuti direttamente all'Hotel, camere grandi e spaziose arredate con stile, molti ristoranti, anche a bordo piscina, servizio inappuntabile e veloce, dietro il quale si vede la regia organizzativa di un management motivato e intraprendente (e, aggiungo, attento a tutti i particolari). Colazione a buffet sterminata e di alta qualità, cibo in generale nei ristoranti ben impiattato e presentato, insomma tutto perfetto, eccetto una cosa, piccina picciò, che per un italiano è però importante: l'espresso! Che può essere migliorato, cosi come i brand di vino italiani presenti nella wine list, non tutti di grande lignaggio. In conclusione, do i miei voti: Location: 10, Menu: 9, Servizio: 10, Conto: 10. L'orgoglio che proviamo da italiani a vedere una struttura cosi ben gestita ci riempie il cuore. Congratulazioni a tutti, grazie a nome del 'sistema Italia' e continuate cosi!

We were there for what appears to have been a hot spell even for the locals. So we were glad to have stayed at the Maglis, where the large rooms are air conditioned (which was needed). It was certainly a different world from the safari experiences we had earlier in our trip, a resort hotel on the coast rather than an all inclusive safari lodges. We enjoyed the post safari R&R, the snorkeling trip and the guided tour of Lamu. Food was OK, staff was pleasant and helpful, and it was great to be on the Indian Ocean, and see a different part of Kenyan history, culture and geography. The hotel was beautiful, unusual in design and well run with very comfortable rooms. The pools and poolside umbrellas/cabanas allowed for respite from even midday heat.

I would rate it 10 but after witnessing an horrible incident i give it 1. I saw the manager pour a whole bucket of water that nearly landed on one of the cleaners. When i approached him he said they are misuing water and his words were this is the only way they understand. There a couple who were near him who said he was very rude with the way he spoke to the workers. This manager was so proud telling me that he has been a manager for 30 years. This man doesnt deserve to be a manager in any hospitality and he needs to go back to training. His arrogancy and rudeness and inhuman is on another level. Most staffs came to me to tell me thank you because he mistreats them and he has no regards for them. One of the receptionist that i approached to ask the boss of this manager to see me never until today when am checking out brought anyone. I called the head office and reported what i had witnessed to the reservation manager who made me feel heard and she impressed me that she is customer service orientated and cares about their stay at majlis. This manager dressing is lacking. His staff dress properly. One is shocked to learn that he is a manger of such a hotel of its calibre. One might have beautiful buildings but most people go back to the same places because of how they were treated. Watching this horrible thing left a sour taste in my mouth and wondered how these amazing staffs go through in the hands of this bad manager. The couple that witnessed also asked me that they were surprised yesterday to see this manager still around after exhibiting such behaviour. I told them i reported the incident to head office and hope that something is done like training this person. The reception team doesnt go around checking on their guests unlike others hotels. They are friendly but need mingle out of the office with their guests and find out how their stay is going. I observed only the rest of the staffs would check on the guests and ask how they are doing. Besides all this the hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect.

We travelled for the weekend, this is our 4th stay here but will be our last! You’re much better off staying at Peponi! Positives 1. Hotel - The hotel is quite picturesque Negatives 1. Service - The hotel could not locate our booking for an hour despite having paid 50% of the room fee and were extremely unapologetic 2. Food - is inedible! Most of Majlis guests end up at Peponi for all meals! 3. View - The hotel is set quite far from the beach 4. Atmosphere - the hotel is generally dead, with nothing else in Manda. Doesn’t feel like Lamu. 5. Pool bar - Barely any ventilation, no fans and no vibe 6. Staff - some staff are quite rude, we had a terrible experience with Florence from reception:

The hotel is very beautiful, spacious rooms, and a great place to unwind. The only downside is that there's no clear view of the ocean from the room, but the beach is just a walking distance and there's lots of activities to do while there. I highly recommend The Majlis!

The place is very beautiful, and it offers quality services to the clients. I would recommend it for anyone's stay again and again including large families since it has got a spacious atmosphere. The rooms are well configured and classic !.

I recently dined at the Resort's restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite cuisine and the impeccable service. The menu showcased a variety of innovative dishes, blending bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that my meal was a memorable one, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring my satisfaction. I can't recommend The Majlis, Lamu enough for the fantastic experience.

We travelled with our 4 year old over the Christmas break. Very overpriced for the quality Positives 1. Staff - very friendly and helpful. The only highlight of the stay Negatives 1. Hygiene - was poor. Our room at check in had the previous guest’s hair stuck on the shower wall. Our entire family fell sick with food poisioning on day 2 of the 5 day stay - several other guests had the same issue 2. Infra - very poor for the price. Our room had a leaky toilet, clogged shower and leaky pipes resulting in a wet bathroom floor. It took 3 days to fix all these issues Overall - would not stay again
